I've gotten pretty tired of the hassle I have to go through to swap items and money between my multiple accounts, as I always have to rely on someone else as a go-between.

Is there any known method of running two instances of Guild Wars at the same time on the same machine? It would help a lot sorting out things between my multiple accounts.

Someone explained to me that I could do it by creating multiple users on Win, and run a game under each user, but that seems like too much trouble. I'm looking to see if theres a simpler alternative anyone might know about.

Anyone have any ideas?

Only way you can do this is have 2 comps.

Have you actually tried it? As I mentioned before, I already have someone who tells me it can be done. It's just that what he describes seems like too much of a hassle when the whole idea is to simplify things for me.

Yeah, thats the one I was told about previously. I was hoping I wouldn't have to go through all that to do it though.

It is possible, yes...I have 2 instances of the game running on my system almost all the time. There is a post here about setting it up, but you'll need a hex editor and will need to create a new folder for the 2nd instance. Keep in mind that it will be like you just installed the game for the first time, so everything will take a while to load at first.

Anyone wouldn't happen to have the GW_Loader.exe from that link anywhere now would they?

The link in the thread doesn't work for me.

Please, I urge you who are not familiar with editing your registry to AVOID IT!!!

your computer registry is like the spinal cord of your body. a simple touch or alter by the hands of a inexperienced user will parylize your entire system. please know what you are doing before you even go in there to look.

Aye, thats why I'm reluctant about that particular method. I have dabbled with the registry enough that I'm pretty confident dealing with it, but I still prefer to avoid it whenever possible.

i can easily launch or more copies of GW on my comp
if u need a hand ... but u wont need loader and stuff, dont dl weird stuff, that's how u loose an acc

basically, u need 2 GW folders and a tool to find and stop the handle that prevent another copy from loading (ur comp ll think GW isnt running since the handle is stopped and ll let u run another)

u also need to edit ur registry since 2 folders=2 differents paths

u can save the modif in 2 reg files so u wont have to load regedit and do the edit... takes a few secs to load both gws

works perfectly

edit: read the url above.. looks more complicated..Hexedit etc..
