Merchant pricing

Does anyone know what the highest price of a weapon or offhand item would be from merchant pricing or even how to they set prices on items.... i have a gold air staff that i could sell to the merchant for 508 gold... but then i break out some of my greens and they would only sell for like 35 gold what is with the merchants.. shouldnt those sell for alot just to the trader??

Merchant pricing is fairly random and not based on any logic I can detect (for instance, identical items can sell for different prices at the merchant).

That said - greens are often inferior to gold items with the best possible stats.

I've never had the merchant offer me 500 gold for a single weapon, shield, or other item. But I've come close.

most i got out of merchant was around 400g.... for a holy stuff with very weird stats.... alot of stats but all at 5% chance THE MOST, so go figure how they calculate. maby more LINES of stats is better?

Probably was cross-profession stats. Merchant looks at the item and says: "oh no, this won't work. we gotta get this item out of the economy. i'll pay 400g ! top dollah! "

holy dmg 11-22 req 12 divine
halfs smiting skills 3%
healing +1 5%

not exactly that but in that style!!
i think even the biggest noob woulnt give me more then 100g for that!

If an item isn't identified, like a white or green item, use an identification kit on it. Generally in high-level areas this quite increases the amount the merchant buys them for. Identified items have a range of prices they can have, determined by their color: high-level purple items are 100g to 200g and golds are 200 to some number I'm not sure of.

I think my highest priced gold was 462 or 468 or 472. Something like that.

anyone have any higher then 508g?

My highest is 438 for an FDS.

I have a gold Chakram with value 508
Energy +12 (req. 12 Illusion)
Health +36 (while hexed)

i had an air wand that was about 504gold at the mech

My top merchant sell was also 504.

508 also..

I dont have a screen, but I did have a gold shadow staff that was garbage..but the merchant value was 518 gold...I'll dig in my screens folder and see if I still have it....

I also have a gold req 6 hammer (non max) thats worth 88 gold

I think my highes was over 700 but I might be wrong... it was from FoW chest

532 for a dumb staff of deathbane...
