A friend and I have been IDS farming every night for the past 4 days, interlaced with helping out with other things, and in fifteen or so runs, we haven't seen a single IDS drop, I see people asking for IDS runs in town, so is this bad luck, or what?

Yes, they drop still. But from what I've seen, they don't go for much anymore (unless you just want one to have). By the time it takes you to actually get one, you could be farming another area that has a more stable income.

They still drop. Their value is stable now, about 18-20k. Some people just want it because it still looks pretty unique even though alot of people can get them. I sold mine off for 60k the first week because I didn't like the unmoddable Icy Hilt .

I don't want it to sell it, and thanks.

Same reason I don't really like them. Besides the look, the unmoddable hilt is a huge turnoff for me. Same goes for an FDS. Cool at first, but after a while it may have little utility.

...Yes I was one of those people that saw an NPC with one in pre-sear and was like "zomg! I want one!!!1!" It's happened to all of us.

They're as usefula as any other sword with a fiery or icy hilt, I just want the IDS to match my bangin baby blue armor.

well this is a weird idea maybe, but the IDS does have benefits of being icy...such as:

if you happen to be a W/N you can put spinal shivers on the person (which causes every skill they use to be interupted when hit with cold dmg) and then use the IDS in their face...the ultimate interupter :P

sweet! same goes for cold dmg bows! i love them for SF farming.

i'vw been runing all week to get 1 IDS as well, solo, group, Guild runner who quits so i get drops.... nothing worked so i decided to just go to Tombs, at least there i get greens and perfect golds 90% of times... i'd say more efficient. During 3 days i can make 100k and buy a perfect IDS with no hussle, and have 50k left over for a good shield... instead of farming for 1 (that might not be perfect) for mounths.

but its just my point of view

It's really not that great. Unless you have high curses it's going to hurt your energy, and you are relying that they can't get off any hex removal. You would be better off backed up by a curses necro to do the SS.

Sold mine for 65k to a guy who was buying them all, expecting they'd stop dropping after Wintersday... Guess that didnt really work out for him...

Nice theory but wont work, a Warrior hasn`t gotten enough energy to interrupt those targets with Spinal Shivers, for instance when you interrupt your target with Spinal you`ll drop 10-5 Energy ( 1-16 Curses Attribute)
Well you wont be getting your Curses up to 16 so think about 7-8 Energy loss (lvl 5-8 Curses) Well a warrior can take that maybe 3-4 Times before he is fully drained, thereby comes the fact he can`t heal himself or use skills in that time, also comes the fact Spinal Shivers itself costs 10 energy, means the warrior couldn`t interrupt more than 2-3 times =\

Well it`s a nice try guys =P too bad it won`t work

If you still had no luck in getting one, you can have one of mine. My W/Me is quite successful at farming them (even though I haven't for the past two or three months) and I should have one or two still lying about.

thats true but wariors often team up with a monks and necros SS and MM so the curses guy can cast and warior hit with cold (since on short range, more hits per minute). better then just necro hitting fom range.

I had to do the opposite. I was getting crappy drops in SF, 4 or 5 runs in a row I had no greens or golds and only a few purples...

I switched to soloing for IDS with my monk (laughably easy btw) and got 4 in 6 runs and a bunch of other loot and materials. It does take a long time if you kill everyone on the way to the imps though, but I got good drops from the avicara.

oh well, I sold the IDS's and bought my greens

I did that before. Never bothered with using IDS though. Icy axes are fine disruptors when combinred with Disrupting chop.
