My collectors set has served me very well
I use the Maguma focus item and the Truncheon from Arlis Vaughn;
5 Iridescent Griffon Wings, Halves skill recharge of Death Magic spells (Chance: 20%)
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Arliss_Vaughn
Halves casting speed sounds good but Blood stained boots will mean you will almost always win the corpse race against any NPC.
The only down side is after the Griffon nerf, wings are a little harder to come by. Although to be honest any wand that effects casting time will do, your minions are your attack, wand damage is irrelevant.

If you are seriously considering MMing, Scar pattern with blood stain boots are a must. With the +15/-1 death wand outside of Gates of Kryta and +27/-1 SR cesta from the desert collector you will be able to net 76-79 energy.
The loss of 2 pips of energy regen can be counted using a high Soul reaping at 15 while Death at 16 to ensure that you will always have energy as long as something dies( switch between minons-Death nova and fiends) In areas such as UW tombs where there is no competition for corspe in comparison to SF, skill recharge/casting speed isnt as critical and can be complemented using serpent quickness which also decreases recharge for Verta Sacriface to heal your minons as a N/Ra as an alternative to the widely used N/Mo combo. good luck and have fun MMing

I have a question... are the green staffs found in UW better or worse than collector's staffs? I've heard different views from people so I figured I'd ask.
Basically Im curious if its worth spending all that money making a good collections staff or wait till the UW, and get it then. Also, you can buy nice greens for 3-4 k in Ascalon and I hear Collection staffs can even run more.
Any truth to this?

Any truth to this? The good necro greens come from Sorrow's Furnance, not Tombs. No greens come from the traditional UW. And those greens are highly expensive these days. Some necro greens are inferior to collectors items, however, and those can be had for little more than a collector's item can.
Unmodded collectors items can be bought for 2000 quickly, 1000 or less if you're patient. At least, the easier ones to get can be bought for lower amounts.
Staff mods get very cheap at some pont 15-30% below max, if you're lucky enough to find somebody who's bothering to sell them at going rates.

By the way, with respect to collectors items, I need to get the Soul Reaping +27/-1 offhand for my own necro. So if you want one for 2K, please let me know via PM or something.
Ditto the curses truncheon.
Others I'd gladly pick up for the same price are:
Blood staff
Death staff
And I have a Curses staff already set up for Armor +8 that I'd sell you for 3K (in which case I'd go get another one and make it into an Armor +10).
I might be open to a quantity discount if you want several items.
