Glyphs only work with spells

For example, say you have 16 Air Magic. You can use the glyph for the +2 boost, cast both Shock and Lighting Touch (air skills) at L18, and the glyph would still be active for a final L18 Lightning Orb (Spell). 3 L18 casts for 1 use of the glyph.
edit: I should put those touch skills into context - I was trying a different type of touch ranger to the R/N by going R/E with air touches, glyph of elemental power and high expertise. It was awful!

This is true. I was running through tests of such things back when I wrote a thread for the Community Works when I tried the same type of thing, except I was testing energy costs.
Running Lightning Touch on a Ranger you really MUST have Quickening Zepyhr and Serpent's Quickness to cast it frequently enough. You can get it to about a 4 second recharge, 3 if you're not using Energizing Wind to counter the Quickening Zephyr cost increase, which you actually don't need;
An odd thing about Quickening Zephyr alone is that it applies AFTER expertise, so it's not really all that expensive in the end; Probably about a 10 cost, with an 11 return from Elemental Attunement and Air Attunement, so that you still gain energy rather than losing it for casting Lightning Touch.
If I recall correctly, there're no other non-spell skills in the Elementalist line (barring other glyphs, which are non-attribute), so this'd be the only thing we're talking about.
Air touch is funny because it's so odd, but it's also too limited with the current repertoire of air magic skills (though it'd probably not be great even with more air touch skills). Still, it'd have to be fun for a stint in the team arenas with a hydromancer, I suppose.
