I survived!

There should be a T-shirt: "I SURVIVED 4 HOURS WITHOUT GUILDWARS!"

And I only tried to log in three times during the out!

Can I have a special edition "I'm still surviving a week without guildwars (including FPE) and I'm running out of techies to e-mail" T-shirt?

Regrettably downtime wasn't to fix what I'd hoped, the missing connection between me and anet. Enjoy the game you lucky lucky people

If you can't handle four hours away from your favourite game, it's time you started to worry..

I thought that it was great that they explained the reasoning behind the downtime and explained some of the issues they were facing. It made it much easier to understand the necessity of it. What do you guys think?

Oh there's no need to worry. I survived just fine by listening to Guild Wars soundtrack and reading the art of Guild Wars book for four hours.

I agree with you there. Even though some of the computer talk went right over my head, it was much better than a random server shutdown with an after-the-fact reason for doing so. And by telling us the reasons why they were doing the shutdown, they show us, the gamers, respect. Common courtesy goes a long way. Thanks for the info Anet.

I agree. Getting a reason is always good. I was asleep though and it didn't affect me.

Can I just have the t-shirt anyway? I've always wanted one.

Yup. It's good to have a decent amount of tech info. In fact I'd love to know a bit more about the kit the server runs on too.

... and a server upgrade that runs to time? What's that about
