While searching for a place to preorder Factions, I found GuildWars.com's link to Simply Games, thinking that all sites linked to from there would be sending out preorder packages. Simply Games, however, is not. Their Factions order page says, in big red letters, "***Please note we are not taking part in the beta testing event on the 24th March. You will not be receiving a pre order key code***".
While they are well within their rights not to be offering the preorder package, I do think it is a bit.. well.. daft for Guild Wars to be advertising it as a preorder vendor.

you can pre order it, it has a big red "pre order" button . Besides the FPE is over with, they may have decided it was over, or they ran out. But they are selling a pre order. Thus you can pre order it.

Yea, I orderd it from simply games before they put that notice up..
then when I phoned asking about my key they said...sorry, not participating.
So I canceld my order and placed it elsewhere.
I tried to get a reason from them, got something about it being too much work and they are understaffed..
But i suspect some under-hand political reasons.

Yep, happened to me too, I ordered it @ SimplyGames and I'm very sure that red notice was NOT there when I ordered it. They just changed without notifying people... so I immediately cancelled my order and went for Game.net. Now hope they send me my pre-order key. I want my pre-order key!

My gf is still waiting her Pre-Order key from cdon.com (Scandinavian onlineshop). There is no special notifications on the site about not participating to preview event or anything.

Does it mean you won't get the special pre-order items/emotes/divine aura (or whatever pre-order goodies) if you order from them? In other words, it's like pre-ordering a normal edition of Factions and not the pre-order edition? 
Or is it just that the pre-order key they provide did not allow you to participate in the Factions Preview Event last 24th March? Anyone contacted SimplyGames to clarify this?

think its jus basically the normal edition..
i emailed a couple places, namely Virgin, HMV, Gameseek and another one i forget, i asked them whether they were sending out the pre-order pack either before hand or with the order only 2 replied..
Virgin had no idea what i was talking about basically:
they do claim they will send out by the 12th tho??? maybe a mistake on their part..

I'm not sure about this list on the European preorder page as it lists Play.com, who have stated to me that they will not be selling Facitons, and who do not list Factions on their site.

Yes, unfortunately the list changed after we published it. We've since removed the list from the pre-order page to avoid any further misunderstanding. I'll do my best to get you an accurate list of pre-order locations ASAP.
It's frustrating, I know. All I can say right now is that we've produced a lot of pre-order boxes, and they've been sent out to stores across Europe. If it helps any, I don't have one yet either
