Beating Doppleganger at level 5?

I'm trying some stuff out, and I have come to a challenge. I must now beat my doppleganger. Problem is, I'm a level 5 Mesemer/Elementalist. My doppleganger kills me in 1 melee hit. Any suggestions as to how I could beat it? If not, what do you think the minimum level I should do it is?

Go look in the mesmer section. There's only a million threads on beating the doppleganger.

But if you don't have at least desert collector armor you have no chance.

Of course you could always just play and learn the character.

I know, I know. I just got my Necro to level 20, thought I'd see how rushing it went. Drok's armor will do, right? And while I'm here, what is the best armor in the game?

why you would want to beat your dopple at level 5 is beyond me.

I beat dopple at lvl 6 N/Me, Used Backfire + AtB + SS + Defile Flesh... he killed himself after using defile flesh

except hes a Me/E....so...that was pretty much to "show off" ^^??

backfire + useless spells = dead doppleganger.

Do this at level 12, you will go strait to lvl 20 if you get the 50k extra exp.

Level 12 does not get you to level 20. You need to be past the halfway mark of level 14.

I did almost the same thing with a lvl 3 me/n. He sac'd himself in 10 seconds.

Empathy + Distortion while strafing.

i beat him with my mesmer monk like this:
as soon as i got in i casted empathy on him, then backfire. rest of my skill bar was useless enchants. so i did these 2 on him and waited so hes done using enchants on himself and suiciding like this. lol
i just stand there and waited for him to finish
cuz he was casting all that crap on him he wasnt attaking, and when he was he was still takin damage. dont forget that hes your miror copy, so i guess he should be same level as you, you just need armor.
