Just so I clear this up..
I can run to the spiders fine and I have all the skills required.. it's fighting them I find hard.. Am I supposed to kill all the Doubter Dryders at the start of the cave? or simply ignore them and fight the spiders? I'm unsure .. Sorry.. please help me with this
providing a screeny too would be helpful

sorry no time for screenies as I have to head to work in 20 mins...but here goes....
1) Go as far out in the water as possible from the center dryder.
2) Equip a longbow fire once at center dryder (aggros all 3), retreat to #1 placement. [Shadow bow works]
3) Once dryders stop coming at you go in and attack, the spider spawn should not trigger as you are to far away.
4a) Walk closer to the cave to get the spider spawn going, pull some out and kill. Take your time till you get used to it, heal up when your hp drops around 200. With physical resistance up, then use dolyak signet and while that is active you should be able to get off 3 healing sigs.
4b) What I like after I kill those 3 is just go in and kill the last dryder while the spiders spawn around you. Then I bunch up the spiders and kill most at once.
5) Enjoy!
last and not least always be wary of strolling skales......

I never bothered keeping up with the original Topic after I learned the basics and used axes. I'm suprised to have not actually seen anyone say anything about Triple Chop. Once I saw Triple Chop I ditched cleave immediately. Here's what I run and it kills the entire group of spiders at about the same time.
Sup:Vigor, Absorption, Axe
Minor:Tactics, Strength
I'm trying to remember this off the top of my head so the attributes won't be set:
Axe:15
Str:Just enough to get 9 seconds from Sprint
Tactics:12 I think(Enough for 130 heal)
Inspiration: Whatever is left
Zealous Axe of Defense
+45/-2 Stance Shield against Driftwoods and Spider, +60/-3 when running past skales and fighting Dryders.
Triple Chop
Cyclone Axe
Blank
Blank
Watch yourself
Healing Sig
Physical Resistance
Sprint
The blanks can be whatever you want, I guess. I just used both penetrating, but after reading the Ajantis' post they could be Disrupting and Ele Resistance to do the other things too.
When timed right you will hardly get in a normal attack.
Hitting Physical resistance, and after you're in a position that Trip/Cyclone will hit the group your killing, open with Cyclone into Triple Chop, then cyclone again, durring the cyclone animation hit Watch yourself+healing Sig. When healing Sig is up Cyclone should be ready again with Triple Chop to follow. If you use healing sig during either of the cycloning animation, then none of the spiders will be able to pull off Healing Spring and you'll be able to drop them all at the same time faster than using cleave to kill one at a time.
Sometimes in the cave you have to pull back from the second spawn of spiders at each dryder point but that only takes about 4 or 5 seconds.

I never understood why people use builds like this that use so many skills for defense. The build I use only has 2 defensive skills and I can tank an infinite number (literally) of armored cave spiders. It can also be used as axe or swords by simply alternating skills, gear, and attributes.
Hundred Blades/Cyclone Axe
Standing Slash/Cleave
Silverwing Slash/Penetrating Blow
Galrath Slash/Penetrating Chop
Healing Signet
Dolyak Signet
Physical Resistance
Sprint
Strength 15
Swords/Axe 15
Tactics 9
Inspiration 2
I use 3 superior runes (yes I am crazy) to achieve these attributes and never take any damage even while using Healing Signet. For the run I remove the superior weapon and strength rune and wear a HoD helm. I use Legionnaires armor for the extra armor while in stance and the desert collector's Crimson Carapace Shield that provides -2 damage and +45 health while in a stance. So all in all I have 350 health while in a stance and heal for 107 whenever my health gets to around 250. When fighting the stick men on the beach before you get to the cave you don't even need to use dolyak sig to take zero damage from them. I also use the typical zealous/defensive sword or axe. With this build I have been able to out damage 2 simultaneous healing springs, and, like I said before, can tank as many spiders as you will ever encounter. I love killing all 3 of the dryders at the mouth of the cave and then taking on all 30+ (or however many) spiders spawn. IMO this is the most effective and efficient build for the FoW spider cave.

I use Eviscerate and it works fine for me..
Cyclone Axe
Eviscerate
Wild Blow
Watch Yourself (sometimes i swap this for Penetrating Blow)
Physical Resistance
Dolyak Signet
Healing Signet
Sprint
I use Eviscerate ---> Spider uses Melandru's ---> Wild Blow.
I hack at the spider waiting for Eviscerate to charge up, this should get it down to around 3/4 hp. then i use watch yourself, eviscerate, cyclone axe, wildblow. This brings the spider to 1/4 hp just keep hacking it and it should be dead before Deep Wound expires. If not well it's still pretty fast
I havent tried Triple Chop though so idk..

You can clear the wailing lord forest with the n/mo, just not the burning forest with all the skales. Toss in a support monk and burning forest can be cleared.
