Check out this week's screenshot for a view of a much-loved new feature of Factions: The Siege Turtle. These members of the Luxon armada play an important role in a mission at the Gyala Hatchery, which is where this screenshot was taken. Find the shot over here.
It's great when the fantasy world in which we play can be so creative as to rename tortoises as turtles. Oops.

Since the Jade sea was once water, and not jade, they may indeed be turtles.

The name "turtle" is often used to describe both the aquatic and terrestrial members of order Testudines, so I don't really see the problem here.

Tortoises are terrestrial turtles. However, that does not mean everything else we call a "turtle" is limited to water. An example of this would be the box turtle, which is terrestrial.

Besides, "seige turtle" sounds better than "seige tortoise". IMO. :P

I guess we're all posting new threads just to post one I suppose. Or to see our name in the catagory. Why is this even posted? Waste of space?

The link still touched on the main aspect:

Turtles have flippers. Tortoises have feet.

Turtles have all kinds of feet, especially considering tortoises are turtles in the end, as you can see from the "Order Testudines - Turtles" section in the turtle link you gave me. I also browsed through the families but hardly saw any references to feet.

To clarify, it mostly depends on what family they are. As it says here, the largest family of turtles in the Northern Hemisphere (these include box turtles) have webbed feet. Tortoises belong to a different family, and they have clubbed feet. As you can see in the Guild Wars screenshot, their feet don't really look "clubbed".

That said, my point was just that some species of turtles that don't belong to the tortoise family are still terrestrial. Sometimes you have to stray from reality a little anyway.

EDIT: Changed tortoise picture because, while accurate, it wasn't a real one. :P
