its max damage req 11 AND it has a mod on it. Thats a low quality rare. Drops like that happen.

A while ago, there was a chance that IDing items left you with a gold or purple weapon that had no mods, and was simply worth more than usual at the merchant. However, a patch since then has changed this.

Rare is not just based on stats, it's based on stats + the level of the mob that dropped it.

I got a gold wingblade drop in the desert, i'd it, thought to my self- "YES! vampiric wingblade of..pruneing?" and the vamp is only 2:1. maybe some weird collector will want it for it's oddity....

Rare=gold color. All gold ettin pauldrons say "rare". Most are major runes worth about 25g.

I got a gold poisonious max wingblade req 12 with no other mods off an UW chest. I was pissed. I tried to salvage it for the poisonous mod (apply poison on my W/R) and ended up getting ignots.
