55hp Mo/W Solo without SoJ for damage

ok i been reading and i soloed uw a few times with 55 n/mo, and i see people tryn to contemplate on how to solo uw . . . . but why not keep Spell Breaker as your elite? and use riposte, and deadly riposte as your damage? feeding tactics would increase length of bonetti's also, so why havent i seen any ideas of this yet, I dunno if this would work, but i know ive been using riposte a lot on just 12 tactics, but please post and tell me your opinion of this build:


Mo/W lvl 20
Ascetic's Armor from Lion's Arch (Cheapest for the energy)

5 superior monk runes, one at least healing prayers

Grimcesta -50 hp

Henge of Deravi Sword with 15% or more enchantment bonus mod (be nice if it had furious mod on it)

Max damage customized healing prayers or protection spirit wand to kill the
nightmare

(Scalp doesnt matter, just as long as you get the numbers on attributes below with the runes)

10 Protection (Protection Spirit and etc . . .)
13 Healing Prayers (+4 mending regen)
12 Tactics (Riposte and Bonetti's Defense)
Rest distributed in smite (To gain adrenaline per hit from balthazar's Spirit)


1) Riposte
2) Deadly Riposte
3) Bonetti's Defense
4) Spell Breaker {E}
5) Healing Breeze
6) Essense Bond/Blessed Signet
7) Balthazar's Spirit
8) Mending

basicly use riposte, instead of soj, for damage, so you can use taht elite slot for something like spell breaker to save you from enchantment removal. .

I believe someone posted that build before (if not, VERY similar) somewhere..

I think you forgot THE staple skill: Protective Spirit

I see where you're coming from Spellbreaker is nice to have around. But I wonder if using the riptoses actually nets you more damage, to me it almost looks like it would take a very long time to use them to kill something. That might just be because I don't use them that often.

SoJ will do more for you than the ripostes against multiple foes, but against one, the ripostes **I believe** do more dmg.

...why not just use Zealot's Fire and some careful spacing of your casting?

If you're going to solo the UW with riptoses, might as well do it with a warrior like the build Racthoh has posted.

i might of forgot the staple skill, but the idea is this, getting damage without using the elite up on something like SS or SoJ, thats all the purpose of this post was really, and just use it on something like spell breaker. but get this, i use a w/x build that goes like this

1) riposte
2) deadly riposte
3) Gladiator's Defense
4) Bonetti's Defense
5) Dolyak Signet
6) Watch yourself
7) healing signet
8) sprint

i use 15 strength and 12 tactics, but my point is this, ive been testing speed wise on killing stuff, and i have came to conclusion in my mind, i can take hydras out and griffons out more faster with my riposte warrior with 12 tactics, then i can with my ss 55 necro, or my 55 soj monk, thus i could save spell breaker for my elite in this, but i dunno, sides the gladiator's defense dont do hardly any ammount of damage besides just around 10% because of the hydra's strange attack behaviors, so mainly i been killing them off faster then a ss necro tryn to build up energy and ignore being interupted during ss cast, or soj cast, with riposte, i can just fire them off with no interupting, and sides if your skills enough seems you can cover your self up with bonetti's, i know i can cover my self up and take on 8-12 hydras with 55 just using guardian, also this, on the above comment someone mentioned above, that SoJ is AoE type of damage, well i was wondering how much AoE you gonna need when just being attacked by 2-3 aatxes?

also SoJ > riposte vs more than 1 enemy, thats why SoJ is a popular choice. If you plan on only fighting one or two enemies at a time then it dosent matter much. If you plan on killing mobs of enemies then SoJ is the faster killer.
