Will you be rushing the game?

I'm just curious if some people in here will be rushing the game as fast as possible to reach lvl20 with their Cantha characters and start exploring the high-level areas. Or will you all take the time to really enjoy playing the game?
Will you take the time to read the Quest Logs? Or do you just click and accept?

When I first played Guild Wars (my very first CORPG) and well, this type of game was so new to me that I didn't knew anything about it. Everything went really slow. But now, after almost 1000 hours of Guild Wars, I think it will go a lot faster in Factions. I also have read 70% of all the Quest Logs but does it really matter anyway, if you read them or not? They have like nothing to do with "the storyline"....

So: I will not be rushing the game. I really enjoyed playing the FPE last week and only explored a little bit of it. I saw pictures of the fully explored areas and I was like wow, did I missed that much? But actually I'm happy that I didn't explored those areas. Because if I had explored them in the FPE, the "excitement part" would have been gone when Factions is released.

No rushing for me. This is a brand new chapter in a story I've really enjoyed. I'm going to savor it.

With my first character I explored everywhere. I will probably do the same thing in Factions.

i spent maybe a half hour looking around a bit but that was all.

i will wait to be surprised and probably not finish Factions before chapter 3 arrives.

i will poke along at my own pace for enjoyment.

I usually just skim quest logs because some of them tend to be overly wordy considering they're coming from peasants in need of favors. For rushing Missions? I'll just be rushing with my guild and friends as far ahead of the incompetent curve as I can (and then I'll run right into them on any later runs through the game and will instead use Henchmen).

Probably play through the PvE slowly with guildies on the faction we choose to support and rushing the opposite faction quest/mission after banking in faction points when i am alone to map out all possible towns to run others.

I didn't rush Prophesies at first but as the story progressed I did. Lets be honnest, the Prophesies story wasn't very interesting. Did anyone not realize that Khilbaron was the bad guy or that the White Mantle were religious kooks? As for factions I'll do the same. I'll give the story a chance but if it's lame again I'll rush to get to the fun content.

I'm relatively new to RPG's, and had been playing FPS's for so long... since I was roughly 11 (11 years ago). So, I'm used to the get-the-story-from-the-action mode of play. I'm a diehard fan of the Unreal series, one that can truly admit to being an Epic fanboy, but I couldn't tell you ANYTHING about the lore behind the Unreal series, mainly because I don't take stock in the story aspect of the game.

For Guild Wars, it's much the same. The only things in the game I read is the things NPC's say while we're waiting for a mission to start, and any mission objectives or quest objectives that shows up in the quest log (L).

I do take care of quests though, not only because they offer experience, gold, somewhat decent items and skills but also because they help explain what the hell those random NPC's are doing out in the forest when I run by them while doing other quests.

In the factions BWE, if it wasn't for the Alliance Battles being included in the event, I would've done more quests. I think I did five to ten, a few of them with my girlfriend because she's more into questing than I am (unlike me, she actually reads everything).

(oh... my girlfriend rocks)

I highly doubt this game will be rushable due in part to the way it will be setup. Also a big fat no from me. I do want to savior the game as slowly as possible.

Gonna take a nice leisurely pace through my first character. I'm curious to see how the missions and quests are set up for our ascended characters already. Will they start off in the Marketplace? Or is there another area that we will start off in?

I'm guessing we'll start in a port city, the equivalent of LA.

We'll find out in one month!

I don't really enjoy chapter1 anymore since I've done everything, I even shelved the game for 2 months and came back a month ago just to start getting bored again.

I'm thinking of it like a good spring cleaning. A fresh start. A new experience. I might as well make that new factions experience with new character names and faces. It was a hard decision to let go of old characters I played for so many hours, but its just a game.
I've actually been debating the same thing, as I like some of the new Mesmer skins and Warrior skins better than my current ones. Since I have no Sup Absorb or Vigor Runes, and basic 1.5k armor, I really have nothing to lose...

well, except all my cool customized Holiday helmets. Hmmm, maybe I'll save one character. The rest are being reborn in Cantha!

I anticipate my Tryian Character to run through to get access to full map (no quests just missions), then I will make a Factions campaign character to play through slowly and enjoy the plot. But I intend to have 1 character at least in the first few weeks that has everything exposed on both maps... Mostly for recon and resource gathering and for assistance of other players...

Also remember you will get to lev 20 LOTS LOTS faster in Cantha then you did in Prophecies. Anet has stated that the story and lev ups gets moving lots faster in Chapter 2 then did in chapter 1. the equivalent of ascension in Cantha will likely happen after first 8-10 missions or so as opposed to 18th being ascension in the original.

I will be rushing through the game getting to all the high level areas, and researching all the monsters that drop runes and rare items, and devising builds to farm them. I will also be locating the new collectors and noting anything else worth mentioning. Then, it's onto running everywhere, and finding ways to beat missions quickly, not to mention any possible exploits that may be available. A spoiled experience? Possibly. But I think it's a good thing to squeeze as much of the game into a few short weeks, so I can be bored with it and do other things. Its my preferred way of playing.

Nope, absolutely not. And I'll keep my personal feelings about those who do plan on rushing to myself, as I'd probably get flamed. ^^

But seriously...why spend $50-70 if you're just going to skip everything? I hope A-net makes it impossible for runners in Cantha. Rushing only hurts the amount of quality players in the community. It's downright pathetic when you see someone standing in Droknar's Forge asking "Where's Piken Square? Who's Prince Rurik?"

I won't rush through the game so I can be bored with everythign within 2-3 weeks. I prefer to explore and complete all quests that are available rather than try to skip as much as possible in order to reach "end game" first.

I believe it has been proven that if you delete a character, then create another character with the same name and class, that new character can use the old character's armor.

And no, I will not be rushing.

I wonder if there will be something similar to a Drok's run in Cantha.

How does that hurt you?

I can't see how anyone pays $50 to play against.. monsters. But hey, I hope it's enjoyable for the people that do get it for that reason. People who are ran, are usually people who have already been through the game, and thus have gold to spend on everything.. and wasting time at lower levels isn't enjoyable for them. Learning who prince rurik is.. is fine.. learning who he is 4 times probably isn't for a lot of people.

You have a choice on how you want to play, why take a choice away from other people?

people pay their money, they have the right to play their game as the see fit. personal feelings aside, noone should be able to tell another person how to play the game, people enjoy gaming in different ways.

as for runners, im on my 6th time through gw and did get a runner, damn right i did, i dont want to go through the same old early levels again which can get so boring after doing them so many times.

runners provide a valid contribution for the game, granted not for the irst timers but definately for those who have finished at least once.

I will try to explore, but like others I fear I've grown too accustomed to insta-clicking OK to read the quest descriptions.
Anyway, I even stopped exploring during the PvE event because I felt I was spoiling the game for myself - I realized I could easily have uncovered the whole available map, and really didn't want to do that during a preview.

But that's me. The day after release there'll be posts here about how people have finished the PvE campaign, and one week after release people will start complaining about being bored. I'll probably still be in their equivalent to pre-searing then.

I wouldn't have mind to have rushed noobs everywhere if they all have a tag on their head that tell me he/she is one.

I would go on a mission, and someone in there would use protector's strike on a non moving foe repeatedly. Or have no clue what is call target, and so much more...

One would ask "how they effect you?", sheesh... I wonder how would they not effect me when I play in the same community as them.

On American server, the game been out for almost a year, and people still can't notice to rez early. The Japanese got this for almost 2 months, I have trouble finding a single one of them that doesn't rez early.

Now I just wish we can break the culture/language barrier somehow.
