Mildly curious here. I do not play PvP, but I was checking out the ladder standings and I noticed what appears to be an anomaly.
War Machine are Rank 4, have a rating of 1631, have 138 wins and 40 losses
Treacherous Empire are Rank 8, have a rating of 1588, have 137 wins and 14 losses.
How does that work then? Anybody know?
Ladder Rankings?

The rating isn't done just by wins vs losses. Its calculated by the difference in rating between two teams. For example if the rank 1 team beats a rank 1000 team they willl get little (if any) rating change, and the r1000 team will get v little negative rating change. But if the r1000 team beats the r1 team then they get a huge bump in their rating.
Essentially its more than just a wins vs losses system. It takes into account the guilds that people play to try to bring some balance. This makes it less easy for people to moan about how other teams don't get matched vs such good guilds as they do (although people still do this)

The ladder rankings are based off the ELO system used in chess. A win against a tough opponent gives more points than a win against a poorly-ranked opponent. Similarly, your losses against a poorly-ranked opponent cost you more points than a loss against a top-ranked opponent.

Thanks for the prompt and informative replies! (Although I think Wolf's wins the Most Amusing award!)
