Hi, I was trying to do thunderhead keep today with my Necro. Anyways I made my way to the keep and cleared everything. Then came the cutscene where the king does his stuff. After that I killed off the first wave of enemies (all the giant herders and the giants). Then, expecting the next wave, I retreated back to the king and waited. Well, I waited about 15 minute and haven't seen another enemy. Has anyone else had this problem? or is it just a random bug?

Something similar happened to me once, here's what I did to fix it:

You know how mobs are tied in "groups" ? Well, sometimes, one of them gets stuck somewhere ... so the game doesn't trigger the next group of mobs to come in the base.

My guess is there was a random jade bow/mursaat ele/etc stuck somewhere just outside the base. After I killed the one I found, I ran back into the base to meet the next wave.

Hope that helps!

Yes that helps, I wish I would of know that a little while ago before I quit the mission.

The last set of Gaints/etc often tiems get stuck on terrian outside the base. Its a common issue in Thunderhead Keep. It surprisingly hasnt been fixed yet...

If your facing the bottom of the stairs, the group is stuck usually to your right. Just go outside the fort and smash that group, and the king will say "the mursaat are coming now" or w/e and it should work fine.

A fact that you can exploit easily on this mission is the grouping of enemies like they do...

This is actually the ONE MISSION in the game where the monsters SPAWN (aren't pre-placed on the map).

No Mursaat even exists around the fort until the last of the gaint/summit groups are taken out. They dont spawn on the map until the king tells you they are coming.

Also all Mursaat after the first 1-2 groups (minus the bonus ones if you activated that) all spawn from the same Point on the map, so if you know that spot outside the fort you can literally take the fight there, and just kill them as they spawn. They never even have to make it to the fort.

Had a similiar thing happen. About half way throught the assault the mobs stopped coming. We waited about five minutes and still no further attacks. We formed up and went out to where they usually spawn. There stood a boss, with the rest of his group a little ways behind. We killed the boss and it was like pulling the plug in the drain. It was all we could do to rush back to the keep and fight off wave after wave. Kind of funny after the fact, but it took some good play and a little luck to get throught that.

OK, this is a hijack, but it's relevant ...

I've only completed THK once -- after only a few tries -- but I feel I know it well because my wife has done it in six characters and told me a bunch of war stories. Anyhow, the group I did it with did something odd. While Dagnar was still alive, they went to the catapults.

Are there enemies standing around at that time to bombard?

There is a group of giants on one side, killing them early helps to preserve the undead allies that you have guarding the gates.

Ooooooooh, pipped to the post :P

I had the same problem, but the giants got stuck on another mob of groups(hiding behind some rocks) and since giants cant shoot thier rocks/arrows through rocks... it took forever :/
