Alright ANet the debate has raged and I'm putting my two cents in here. I think that if a majority wants to skip the cutscene it should automatically skip regardless of the desires of one or two people. It's not that difficult a concept to implement. There are obviously a lot of people that feel strongly about this issue one way or the other ,but I think putting it to a vote is the most fair way to resolve it. So anyone that agrees with me sign below.

It is put to a vote - a vote with a quorum of 100%. Deal with it.

so screw over people who are wanting to read, watch, and be involved in the narrative which is the backbone of PvE because you already did it?

if you can't spare 3 minutes for a cutscene to close out...

No, annoying though it is I know that at some point or another I'm likely to be one of those who haven't watched the cutscene when everyone else has, and I don't want to miss out on the story.

Sorry, but there's already enough pressure on people to skip when they see the votes coming in. They should still have a voice.

I do think that the game should "freeze" during cut scenes, so no one dies or loses their minions.

There are people that are new to this game and wanna see the little cutscences instead of them being skipped.

My god, what is it a year later and we are still having this bloody arguement. Hasn't this been argued 10000000000000000000 times before all with the same dang out come. Most disagree, so does ANet, its never gonna change so I plead that a mod closes this here and now...

There are people who haven't played the game all the way through like you have or they have forgotten the... story I think it's called.

If you want to skip cut scenes, shout "LFG for mission, skip cut scenes" when putting a party together.

The cutscenes are really not that long. I don't see the big deal of watching it over again. If the whole party wants to skip it, skip it. It doesn't kill the game by watching the scenes again. I don't see why this is a big deal to begin with. And it's incredibily rude to insult people who want to watch the cutscenes. If you hate that scenes so much, go get a bathroom break or drink break or whatever.

One more Nay vote. The little people who are playing through the game for the first time have a right to watch the cutscenes. If it went to majority vote, they'd never get to see the thing unless they went exclusively with Guildmates or henchmen, and that is a practical impossibility for most players.

Just to solve it all.

Why can't ANet just freeze time (so minions don't die, or anyone else, enemy don't attack) in cut scenes, it's a bug anyway.

I fear this is the domain of the PuG. Certain people will always want to watch the show (*raises hand*) while others wnat to get into the action. Anet is protecting the right of the newbs by making all cutscenes run until all group members skip them. It may bot seem fair to you, being on your 3rd or fourht character, to have to listen to Rurik (AGAIN! LOUD MOUTH IDIOT! SHUT UP AND DIE ALREADY SO I CAN SKILL CAP YOUR FLAMING CORPSE!) think how you would really feel if it was your first time through a factions mission.

No. the only thing Anet needs to do for cutscenes is make our characters momentaily invulnerable. Poison suspends, minion health freezez, and anything hitting us gets a big fat 0 gooseegg for the effort. That would solve the legitimate complaints on cutscenes, and its a small code tweek to accomplish.

/completely not signed. Why should people who want to be filled in on the story lose out because the rest of the group has seen it all before? Granted, it's annoying when minions die or mobs attack, but that's what ANet should be working to stop. I would be more in favour of ANet removing the option to skip cutscenes.
