For Cantha, the guards' armor is downgraded each century..

I was watching the cinematic, and i go, "why is it that back then the armor of the luxon/kurzick guards look cooler then the ones they have today." I like how the luxons in the video get a sort of Arabian Ninja Hun looking gear. And i like how the kurzicks get a Dark Knight-ish Armor Robe Samurai gear. In-game, they're outfit looks downgraded. (dont mention graphics, im talking about theyre armor.)

you get a glimpse of the ninja/arabian guy in the back, cool looking, sorta like the assasin from soul calibur 2.

Maybe the luxon eventually realize that they don't live in a desert

and Kurzick realize luxon never attack the head, so they don't need helm anymore.

I'm thinking a possible cause would be a sort of change in the last two centuries from 'Man-on-man need good armour' fighting in the whole of Cantha, to the factions war style of fighting spread across large areas with more people...and the good armour is just too costly to make. Oh, and don't forget those cannon-carrying turtles! Armour won't do much good against them!

One reason could be the fact that with the change of situations i.e. THE FREAKING WORLD GOT FROZEN XD, they would have changed their armor and way of life in order to adapt >.<

They were in cities and stuff. They weren't going around killing monsters. Therefore there is a different type of armor required.

well at least they know theyre not going to die in style.

hm...quite possibly it is.

Maybe its only ceremonial armors.
