I really wonder... who would and why would anyone even consider keeping the lynx when the tiger was made so much better?
I can't even tell what that lynx is when I first saw it. Although I am quite surprised that there isn't a jaguar or leoperd in the jungle.
Anyone actually like the lynx? I still can't find any reason to like them.

Well, the whole point of more pets is that you get the choice. I guess some people prefere the Lynx over the Tiger or whatever. Personally, I'd choose the wolf any day. Luckily, all pets have the same run speed, attack speed and damage if raised the same way.
The only difference in pets is that they may deal different damage slashing, piercing...etc. but raise them the same way and the only real difference is the skin. Like the Tiger, get the tiger. Like the Lynx, get the Lynx.
People with one pet don't get an advantage over people with other pets.

Well the point is, and the thing I really want to ask is...
"Would anyone actually keep their lynx over the tiger?"
Personally, I believe the lynx will fall into extinction.
I compare lynx and tiger, because both are from the cat family. While I am still very disappointed at how bad the lynx look.

My point is that, yes, some will keep the Lynx instead of getting a Tiger because they think it looks better. I don't see many now with a Lynx, but I don't think it'll get extinct. How many do you see with a Moa bird, by the way?
Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean that no one else can possibly like it. We're talking about a gaming community of 1 million players and I don't think everyone shares your opinion on what pet looks best, Tiger or Lynx. That's up to the player.

How many people do you think will have Tigers in factions ? Loads. There are people who will go and capture a Lynx just to be different, which is one of the reasons why my Ranger has a Warthog - because not many do. That and they're the best of course.

Edit: Now that remind me of the wolf... that wolf look nothing like the real wolf either (more like a mix breed of a camel and a wolf). If by any chance, Anet offer a more realistic looking wolf, think the ch1 wolf going to get replace? (talking about majority here)

Right, and if they bring out a meteor shower that look like a real meteor shower, then I will be using the later. This apply very well to the tiger/lynx conversation.

I agree with the OP - when I first saw the Lynx, I realized it was just a variant of the Melandru's Stalker. (another one you don't see often).
I don't like the Wolf either, b/c it's all you see in PvP.
I'd rather have a Moa Bird, Warthog or Lizard myself.
Of course, now with Tigers, Crabs and Cranes to choose from...

I have a Dire Lynx and I'll probably be keeping it. I personally like it better than the other monsters because of it's fur color. The Stalker color doesn't really appeal to me. The only reason I would get rid of the Lynx is if I saw a really cool new monster in factions, but then I would have another character get the lynx anyway. The tiger is just too orange for me, but the white tiger seems alright.

Think people who would want a tiger would go after the white tiger,I might get one if I go with a ranger secondary. The cranes and crabs are cool I really liked the Black Moa, but till I see what rare pets they have I am sticking with my spider.

If the Lynx actually looked like a Lynx and was modelled and textured as well as the new pets, I think a lot more people would hold onto them. As it is, I see no reason to keep that blocky puma emposter.

Last time I checked, the 'hog's length was less than half the height of my character. I doubt that Guild Wars is full of 6ft+ characters.

I wonder if chapter 1 pets can cross over to factions. I'm assuming they can.

How many people use the lynx? How many plan to use tigers? This is to say that if popular opinion counted the tiger is clearly better. HOWEVER, this means when the lynx becomes obscure over time one day someone may say "OMGZ Where did you get that l33t three toed thing!?!?!?!!!!11!!!!"
