Splitting ectos 50/50
Bernie M
Hello. I've been duo farming with my 55 monk and SS/SV necro for quite some time usually spliting ectos when I wondered about the "official" way to split ectos 50/50.
The way I've done it in the past is this:
If one falls for the entire run - that person got lucky. I don't usually sell off the ecto or have the other person sell it off.
If two falls for one person, that person give the second one to the person immediately. The person that didn't get any could go ahead 2-1 if a third one falls
Note: I don't wait until the end to "share" the drops. It's pretty much immediate sharing and hoping that the next one falls for you.
Any thoughts? Thanks.

Uhmm, is there anyother way to do 50/50
if they say they will give at the end of the
run its definately a scam.

Ultimately it works out evenly whether you split ecto drops or not. I dont really understand peoples' obsession with 50/50 tbh, but hey - whatever floats your boat :P
Why does it say i'm banned
?

I just let whoever gets the loot have it... more fun.

Only go with Friends or Guildies, you can't trust PUGs.

I've had some pretty good luck with 2 man pugs, but I would never split drops - much easier to just go with the luck of the draw on drops.
BlackRecluse
i hate 50/50..just let it fall for whoever, in my experience it is usually roughly the same. and the difference between 1 ecto is not that much

I've had an ex-guildie who refused to split 50/50 after a second one dropped for him. He then booted me from the guild after I called him out on it in @Guild chat.
I only do 50/50 (drop ecto as soon as possible) when I group with a random person that I haven't played with before, otherwise I just let drops go to whoever it's assigned for. Yeah, so there's a chance that the other person might get another one - nothing you can do about it.

That's why you get to know the person before inviting them.

ummm I go with a friend, and we play little jokes about dwayna working her magic on grenth to favor him or me [monk and nec, se? har har]... Once, over a course of a few runs, I got 9 in a row, nonstop... and then my friend got 7 in a row after that, it all works out eventually :P~
Cowboy Nastyman
haha yea damn you dwayna and your juicey favoring tricks

Yeah, you pretty much have the 50/50 concept right. I'll only go into UW by myself (55 Mesmer) or with guildies (55 Monk/SS Necro).
The way we do it is whoever gets the first drop keeps it. If we're lucky enough to get a second drop, (
) it goes to whoever didn't get the first one. Then in the event of a third drop, whoever. On the fourth, whoever didn't get the third gets it. And so on...
Most of the time that unofficial rule doesn't even come into play, since you'll be lucky to find one-two Ectos. (The average drop amount per run in my experience is a measly 1.) But one time I went with a friend of mine, and we had five Ectos drop. 4 of them dropped reserved for him, and only 1 for me. Of course he didn't say anything about splitting, but neither did I. Needless to say, I never did ask him to come on a run with me again.
Here's a tip if you're unsatisfied with the Ecto drops after completing a Smite run: The Terrorweb Dryders have a somewhat high Ecto-dropping chance(in my experience). So clear that room of all Aatxes, Grasping Darknesses and Dying Nightmares, and then go after those 3 Dryders there.

if you end up with an odd number of ectos after you have finished the run you can split the remianing ecto by someone trading the ecto for half its market value.
Rayne Nightfyre
Yeah, you can do that, but is it really something to lose sleep over if you lose out on one ecto (6k), or half of an ecto(3k)?
Linsys
I just let the Necro decide... I have enough money and ecto it doesn't matter... if they want to split kool, if not kool... I don't care..
However, I NEVER split till the end... and have yet to scam anyone by splitting at the end, I belive that is the ONLY fair way to play.

well, i usually do two runs in a row, with the same nec, so if an odd number falls the first time, then the person who didn't get the last ecto gets the first one on the second run.
Dracostamer
Usually its 1 : 1 split on ectos, and all the items are kept.
