Enhancement to CTRL and ALT keys.
Ishmaeel
Here I am, in Lion's Arch, for example. I mouse over to the clump of people over there and the names of those who happen to be positioned near my pointer light up, so I can see who they are and target them easily.
I press CTRL and (woot!) every human player in the screen have their name lit up.
I press ALT and (yipee!) every NPC in the screen have their name lit up. I move my mouse toward Alesia so I can target her and add her to my party.
Suddenly, all the players near my pointer get highlighted, the screen is filled with blue names, the game, in an attempt to accomodate all the names together, stacks the names like so, and Alesia's name runs away from under my pointer. I move my mouse again, yet more names light up and Alesia's name scurries off to the other corner and so on. I end up chasing one green name amidst the torrents of the ever-changing sea of blue names. It gets even hairier in tight combat situations where you are trying to target the monk in the mob to beat the divine favor out of him, only to end up targeting one of your teammates.
Here's the fix that I want to see: If I am currently pressing CTRL or ALT keys, please-oh-please disable the pointer-vicinity highlighting so I can just click on that guy I'm interested in targeting, instead of a random guy who is minding his own business over there.
I hope I have been clear and I'm sorry if this has been posted before.

This has also bugged me at times. I would enjoy seeing this implemented

I HATE that. At times, it seems like you have to run up to the NPCs just to reduce the name saturation.

Besides that I think you're showing an unhealthy interrest in Alesia, I sign this

Definitely /signed. If someone else hadn't brought this up, I was probably going to.

Thanks all for the signatures.

That effect is just how the display is programmed. Regardless of what button you're pressing, your mouse reveals any "names" you're pointed it. Changing that isn't the simplest of programming, though a.net has done many useless, tricky interface changes. Don't ask why.
