LOL, since when has spamming been a bannable offense?

Earlier today I got on Guild Wars and was spamming in LA for a little bit, when some random person whispers me and says:

"lozl i report you spamming in public chat you are banned!!!"



I'm assuming he's shitting, but spamming is not a bannable offense lol is it?

It's not bannable. Just a minor infraction that can probably get you blocked. Not like ANet cares enough to have to deal w/ jackasses in LA dis 1. Too much work because there are way too many spammers. They got better things to deal w/ IMO.

Most likely he was angry because you were spamming in the PUBLIC CHANNEL rather than the TRADE CHANNEL. The channel divisions are in place for a reason, yet they are ignored WAY too often. While i dont think this is a bannable offense, i still get quite annoyed with people who do that.

To avoid this use the correct channel for trades/sales/purchase spams.

I think the main question is why does one need to spam at GW chats.

My main question is: Why do people even waste their time spamming in LA ad1. Everytime I end up there the text flies by so fast that it's impossible to read anything. You'd think that some of these loons would get a clue and change districts once they see the text flying by so fast.

You can not even communicate to play the game with everything in LA1 now. its become the new Ascalon dist 1. which I always refused to go to once the dam channel spammers took it over, Now I'm FORCED out of LION ARCH as well. SOON its gonna be that bad ALL OVER...

Its getting ridiculous. No one is playing the game anymore all they are doing is farming and spamming to death. How is Anyone suppose to function outside of a guild. If I was buying this game right now, today... I doubt I would have any interest in it. Its hard enough to show interest in it right now when all of this going on.

Its one thing if the spammers were restricted to say Dist 1, OR had a special Traders District... But by no means is this the case. They have INFECTED every district. To the point that at some times of the day it is IMPOSSIBLE to communicate legitimately outside of clan chat.

I am just sick of this. I mean truly Sick, I have seen a great game completely decimated for anyone new that happens to pick it up. I have new people from my clan I am actually telling now that its not worth even trying to play unless all of us are on to help them. Because that is the truth. The general PUG populace is nothing but WORTHLESS A$$ WIPE SPAMMERS!

The number of people that are willing to play the game is drastically shrinking because of the near impossibility to communicate with other players. ONCE UPON A TIME Anet had a system in place that would flash a warning to people spamming messages repeatedly... I would love to see that implemented to have it silence them for a certain amount of time if done repeatedly outside of trade channels...
