i am getting real tired of trying to get a fricken group in HoH. Im a R/N and i dont know what build to use or what team builds are good. I have Ts and Vent. so, to sum it all up, what build does a R/N need to use to find a team in Hoh?

generally to go into HoH, you need a specific build to fit the FotM or a FotM from the past. Nag your guild or search the builds forum for said FotMs.

iway seems to be becoming quite popular again. As has been said already, with no rank you will have to conform to current FotMs. Examples of unranked group builds you can look for are Iway, Ranger Spike, Necro Blood Spike, Rainbow Spike, Balanced...
Just a hint, the majority of builds that require a ranger also require a mesmer secondary, like for a Mantra of Resolve trapper, Drain enchant pre spike, or even monk secondary to be a martyr trapper for iway... Still confused, check out the forum for builds in the HOH forum section or just class specific sections...

I hate to say it but the best bet is to IWAY. As much as I'd like to say you can get a guild who will help you get to rank3 in a weekend through great builds like balanced and blood spike and reasonably challenging builds, that isn't the case. As for a ranger you need a different secondary. I recommend Mesmer like the above poster mentioned or a Warrior secondary is decent for rangers.

On the Guild Wars program, press B. Select a challenge and find one that has a ranger (make sure it's not a guild group...they tend to have special builds). Try to see what this ranger uses, and use it yourself

Yea.. change to R/Mo and play IWAY if you dont want to spend ages getting random teams and hoping to win.
I played with my guild and joined non ranked teams with my monk when i first started HA/ToPK. Luckily i never had to go thatWAY.

They nerfed IWAY, but tey brought it back because Europe was having the favor too much and America didn't have it at all.

Look son, HoH is not the time for pick up groups (PUGs) alright? It's like expecting to have sex before going on a first date. Go to Team Arenas and look for skilled groups and lay out what you have to offer to the table. After a while you'll find several groups that work good together and you might make a few friends. Talk to them often, get them to do some TA with you more and get your current friends to come along aswell. After a while, you tend to build up friends and like me, before you know it, you're going to have someone PM you at least once a day asking you to do guest GVG, HOH groups, or some other form of PVP, maybe even PVE. As long as you're occupied, you'll get somewhere.

If you cant find a team then make one, theres plenty of unranked people in tombs looking for groups.
Also stay in home districts to begin with as the international districts are for ranked groups and FOTM.

Go Heroes Ascent and win repeatedly. For you i think go to Tomb of the Primeval Kings and finish the mission there.

Beat all of the Zaishen challenges. Beat the Zaishen Elite I think its 5 consecutive times. Then win a bunch in Random arenas consecutively... then Team arenas... then you have Heros Ascent. Sucks for the new players huh?
I wish they would have banished all under rank 1 to do the same thing :/

As a monk for the past 4 months I’ve finished the game and concentrated on helping guild members and GVG. In that that time I hope that I’ve become an accomplished monk.
I’ve have now completely given up on PUG’s in Heroes and only go there with the guild on the odd occasion with varying success.
Maybe I should have played IWAY for the past 4 month to earn fame!
Heroes is just not an enjoyable experience, just too many people there with their heads up their own backside.

ok,play iway if u dont want skill but a nice emote!
Get freinds make your own group and think of own builds as you alrdy have
vent and ts thats good hopefully a mic too so u will be a good team leader
check out builds on B try to go for the flavour of the month and then try and devolp it from there.
Hopefully you will find a few freinds which you can use in your teams, when i did this when i first started playing GW alot of them i still use in my non-guild teams.

What you need to be doing is watching a lot of observer mode to see what the most popular builds/characters are. Then you go and make yourself a PVP char and try to slip in that way.
