I thought that was the case. The problem is with with a guild of say ... ahhemm ... just picking a number at random ... 4 players. A max of 250 guilds/alliance would be nice for any muppet sad enough to be in that guild

EDIT: Ok, let's make that 3 - one of the fictitious members of this fictitious guild may have two accounts. So that's 333.33 guilds/alliance.

I think this forum needs a rule that many other forums have adopted: All Guild Wars vs Other Game threads will be immeadiately locked. Saves us all alot of breath, and ends pointless discussions.

we just need faith that A-Net will balance this out. They're not going to deny us game content because we're not in an uber 1337 alliance always holding the elite missions. I'm sure A-Net knows what they're doing and has all this figured out. Stop assuming things.

Sorry, but if you're just here to flame GW, I don't know why you are doing it.

WOW, EQ and GW all are good games, and they all appeal to different gamers.

If you're feeling left out of the 'elite content', then join a guild. There are plenty of people in major cities who need people and will readily invite you.

Guild Halls cost about 20-30k. That's not that much. If your guild works together, you can easily get the money in a couple of days.

Don't go onto game forums just to flame the said game.

If you do, you're just plain stupid.
And what does joining in on a good ol flame fest make you? Typical ol' GW fansite.
The post was properley edited by the third(or fourth?) post(no thanks to the OP), so anyone commenting on the lack of proper puncuation after that is too stupid to read the edited post, or just has a problem with flaming. Period.
He makes a valid point, that I have been worried about ever since they introduced the faction farming system. And lets be honest people, that is what it will come down too. And really to think the inevitable wont happen is head in the sand syndrome.
That is why I wont be buying Faction right away. Ill see how it all unfolds and make my choice after its been out for a month or two, Im not all hyper too be in on the econmy right away, who cares, the economy in this game is a joke anyways, its a farming fest now so gold means absolutley nothing anymore. With the bots taking over, when Faction comes out, and the devs attention turns to Cantha, Tyria will be OVERUN by them, then I will probably just quit this game, and move on. That will be sad, and I will always think 'it was good while it lasted'.

Firstly, yeah, okay, the guy didn't use paragraphs. Made it hell to read. End of story. Now either discuss the content of the post or go away.

Taking the time to post "I didn't read your post" is just about the stupidest, rudest waste of time I've ever seen.

I did read the post (in someone else's quote), and frankly, his point is perfectly valid. It worries me too. The interesting thing is, it worries nearly all of you, too, regardless of how much you stick your tongue out and make fun of the guy.

I say that because I read the arguments against his post. They fall into these categories:

1) I like big guilds full of strangers and am in one. I don't see why this is a problem!

2) You didn't use paragraphs, therefore you point is invalid!

3) I'm sure it won't work like that. Your complaint is premature!

The first type I don't really need to comment on. The system seems to be made for you. Groovy.

The second type I've already commented on. Say something constructive next time.

It's the third type of opposition that's the most useful, and yet the scariest.

See, it's true, the game isn't out yet and we don't know how it works, so we can all say, "Oh, I'm sure Anet isn't that stupid! Surely the system will make everyone totally happy!" However, if there's one thing I've learned from years of being in the business, and being a gamer, it's that developers follow the old rule of "If you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all."

This subject has been discussed a LOT on these forums. Many would say way too much. So, has Anet dropped a line to say, "Don't worry, guys. It's not like that. You'll all be very happy!"

No. It's quiet as a grave.

I'm not saying that means it'll suck, but frankly, I think that seriously increases the chance that it'll work just like everyone's saying it will when they complain, and if you think that will suck... then it probably will.

I'm not sure I care. I like exploring new places. I'm in a guild with a whole 3 people (once had 5! Whee!). If the system sucks for small guilds, I'll probably just ignore it and still have fun. But, wouldn't it be much better if I didn't have to write off large chunks of the game as "not meant for me"?

I think it would.

See, I used paragraphs, so everything I said must be correct. (Doesn't it work both ways??)
