Need Positive Feedback on This =]

Well im makin my first serious ele and am determined to get it to at least magumma this time but before I even start it I would like some feedback on spellcasters or eles in particular. I have stuck with real damagers in gw so far I have A R/W Stuck On THK >_< and a W/N that I just converted from a W/Mo Just beat THK with it so I pretty much know Jack about the ele. I would like to be a earth later on but I know that starting with fire is the best for sure. Id like to know what to do early on to get the most out of my ele. Hmmm....early on...not much choice there besides Flare, Firestorm and such in fire line, which are crappy.

What's your secondary?

in the early stages of the game flare is going to be a staple part of your build as its cheap and spammable.

You didn't say what your secondary profession is, but anyhow:

1. Fire is indeed the way to go earlier in the game.
2. Fireball is your friend.
3. Don't fire the first shot in a fight, unless you have to. Let somebody else take aggro first. You're squishy, without great self-heals.
4. Max out your Fire Magic attribute, period, no exceptions. Maybe ONE point off the maximum to give you a lot of points elsewhere, but that's it.
5. There comes a time when Immolate is better than Flare. But it's later in the game than one might think. Immolate's on-fire is 42 points of health reduction; do the arithmetic from there.
6. Fire Attunement and Aura of Restoration are your friends.
7. He who fights and runs away/May live to fight another day.
8. Phoenix is good defense, poor offense, and a lot of fun -- except against enemies who are good at interruption.
9. Lava Font is for defense only.
10. Firestorm is pretty useless.
11. Arcane Echo isn't just for Meteor Shower; it also works well on Fireball, Immolate, and sometimes even Flare.
12. Glyph of Lesser Energy is great for Arcane Echo.
13. If you're Ele/Mo, make room on your skill bar for condition removal.
14. If you're Ele/Me, there are a lot of situations where one or the other stance is really cool to have. But they're all situational.
