Grind is subjective

learn this please

Presearing (before the 'war') comprises less than ten percent of the content of the game. Yes, postsearing (after) is a bit daunting and ugly at first (god I hate postsearing Ascalon) but stick with it. You won't be there too long, if you follow the story.

By "the war", are you referring to when the charr attack Ascalon, and fire falls from the sky and what not (aka "the searing")? Because if so, this is approximately 5% of the way through the game. If you're happy with the content in "pre-searing", then by all means, stay and be happy. However, there's a whole lot more to experience after this point.

the whole area that was nice and green has all been seared into wasteland.

further on you will find snow covered mountains, verdent jungle, seashores around lions arch and elsewhere, lava in the ring of fire and such trifles .

sound a bit better?

Presearings graphics and terrian design is AMAZING compared to everything else, and their are quests everywhere. This changes after the Searing (it wasnt a war, the charr pretty much pwned them).

But still Pre-searing isi like 5% of the storyline.

So you have to leave at some point

i really liked pre-searing, when i was a newbie i wanted to stay there because post-searing was just a waste!

im still convinced now that pre-searing looks better because its got all those different areas in the same place, wheter in post-searing there is like the ascalon area, the shiverpeaks area, the tyria area, the maguuma area, the desert area and the fire islands area. and they are all separate!

Pre is an absolutely beautiful part of the game and I keep a char there permanently. But as noted above, it's just a small percentage of the game. GW has an amazing story and Pre is only the beginning. Play on!

Pre-Sear, or pre-war as the oirginal poster called it, is just the tutorial area. No doubt it is beatuful, but the longest I ever spent there was 2.5 weeks, and that was on my very first character (I have since made upwards of 12, but not all of them made it all the way thru the game).

As was already said, pre-sear accounts for about 5-10% of the game's total offerings. Go forth and prosper, young <insert profession here>, and play this gamer to its fullest!
