Greetings,
Guys I need to record my gvg matches along witho ur ts/vent chat...thing with fraps is..it really slows down my game.
I have:
Nvidia 6600 GT 128 MB.
1 GB RAM
3 GHZ Processor
256 kbps ADSL
XP
I feel my PC is good enough to handle the load....should I lower the Graphic settings to least etc? I can run the game at max settings with full anti-alias, but I dont do that but if GFX card can handle that, I dont know why FRAP slows down the game and also any other good program you guys use etc?
Thanks
Need to Record Games..FRAPS or any other software + optimizations...

That should be an ok system, mine isn't too far off - 3ghz P4, 1Gb, ATI X800 and I've plenty of times used fraps to record GW stuff at full detail.
Do you have two drives at all? If so try setting your "save" folder for fraps to be on the drive not containing GW. Try limiting it to record at 25fps as well. If you purchased it you should be able to upgrade to a new version as well.
Maybe try without the AA see if that makes any difference - it might just be your hard drive is a bit slow or something dunno; an alternative is Hypercam I think but I had slowdowns with that one (opposite of this!) but it could be worth a try.

Do you have two hard drives? I saw a big difference when I had FRAPS recording on one hard drive and then the game playing on the other.

I need to look into the dual drive recordings..... More reason for me to go RAID-0. Er. who is ur ISP? cause u should shoot them in the face with 256k on DSL....... swap to verizon for 768k, or Cable if you have the money

Hiye,
Cheers thanks guys, I'll try out what all you said. Thing is, they dun have Verizon here in Pakistan yet. so 256 kbps is still a bery good speed where I live and I just got it for GW

Use GameCam. I used it in this video:
http://media.putfile.com/PuP-With-Power
You can get it for free at
http://www.planetgamecam.com/
The only problem some people have with it is its a bit more advanced than most people like. (You actually have to profile something.
Just expect 10-20 minutes configuring it.
Here I'll try to make this easy.
Open it up, an icon will pop up at the bottom right.
Right click on the icon.
Click Profiles
Click New
Click browse, find your guild wars shortcut or the guildwars.exe file, and click open.
Then for the profile name type in Guild Wars.
Target path should already be filled out.
For target param, type in +game dcmod
Now at the bottom right of that window press close.
Close Guild Wars if it is open.
Right click the Game Cam icon again, then click profiles, then click the Guild Wars icon, and Guild Wars will open.
Press the / key to get the game cam mouse, and move it to the top left to get to the 'remote' and you can press record, stop, sound on/off or whatever. Once you play around with it (after right clicking on the icon and exploring the menus), you will find the list of hotkeys, and you can modify them yourself so you don't even have to bother with the remote anymore!
Enjoy!
