What happend to my Factions Number?

I certainly hope this is the correct place to post this. If not, Mods please move it.

Back during the Pre-Order event my guild sided with the Kurzics and I dumped all my factions points into the Kurzics alliance. Now I had something like 29 points at the end of the event and now when I play GW I see that my points are dropping drastically. What's happening here? IMO I think that the points should have stayed at least until we lost alliance battles or something like that. Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The value is set to depreciate at a rate of 10% per day. This is to stop old inactive alliances still holding towns indefinitely, I guess.

Faction points redeemed for alliance standing drop gradually over time. You cannot just raise your standing and sit on it indefinitely.
