That same shield is probably more easily obtained from the collector in Snake Dance, outside of Camp Rankor. It requires 5 Frosted Griffon Wings, which are easy to farm for or buy.
New players who don't know better have always been taken advantage of, this is nothing new. Shame on anyone who'd try to do this, but it's ultimately the buyer's choice whether or not they wish to buy an item like this (hopefully not).
And yes, it's false advertising since that shield is anything but rare, and there are several collectors that give the shield.

(considering you can't have read either mypost or the OP properly, as it's clearly scamming) you say too lazy? Well that someone had to get their GP somehow, which is exactly what gold is for, the transferal of one labour into the produce of another labour. How the hell are they lazy for buying one instead of farming sand worms for 'em?
And the price of an item does not make it a scam, it's makes a rip off, it's the extra text that makes a scam or not.

Neither are scams, but the second price is ludicrous. But if you have 180k, you should know what things are worth. 10k for a collector shield is a not a scam, it's just a stupid price

as mentioned before, the shield in snake dance right outside of rankor is Strength based, the one outside of dunes is Tactics based... same mods, same armor just diffrent requirements.

It's one thing to be selling it in game and making such claims, but this was either pretty bold or pretty stupid for this seller to make such a claim in an auction. It was bound to be caught by someone. Not justifying it, just making a statement.

Wasnt there a +45, -2 while in Stance removed from a collecter in Snake Dance, also called Crimson Carapace Shield? Heard it was popular with runners a while back, still have it collecting dust in storage, in case I ever decide to make a Warrior again, maybe I should get rid of it.

got my bleached shell one for 4k i think.. could have got it cheaper before i knew how much bleached shells were and found 2 people selling the shells for 250g ea.!!!! oh well live and learn

Is it a good deal stat-wise? No, but then neither is 15K armor or Fissure Armor, and that's an officially priced part of the game which people still pay for.
P.S.: I thought it only took 2 shells?

I think why this one is worth so much more is because of the stance requirement, something Warriors can easily control. Farming Bleached Shells is not easy for a lot of people and do not drop with any great regularity, and in the recent past I bought most of these shells to get it at 1K a piece, the requirement being 5 Shells at the time. Then you add going out and making the trade, which is a bit of a slog through the desert, and you have spent some time and 5K for the thing. So asking 10K for it, is not that far out of line.

The stance shield is very strong in PvE. Especially for Wa/Me using physical or elemental resistance because it makes the warrior essentially invulnerable to that type of damage. (-2 from shield, -3 from superior rune, -2 from armor, that means if you would take 7 damage or less, you actually take no damage, the Mesmer stances last very long and usually allows you to have enough armor to take 7 damage or less before reduction).

just a question, where do you farm bleached shells, I know they drop from wurms, but where are there the most wurms

The easiest place to farm them is outside of Dunes of Despair. The only trick is getting past the forsaken near the teleporter. Just east of where you telelport to, wurms usually pop up. Sometimes 2-3 at a time. But if you can run a solo build there, you'll get your shells soon enough.
