Noticed some of the responses from a few people are "You have no life," "You have problems" or "Seriously, there is something wrong with your life."

Are people that bothered by how many hours another person plays this game?

Wow.... I have had the game from the beta and played casually. Over like 11-12 monthes i have played only 275 hours or so. Less than 300. And 20 of those hours was from my friend who wanted to try it and is now playing it...

Freak? I wouldn't exactly call us freaks. Insane, possibly (definitely in my case), but not a freak... As to the demand that we "get a life", well, I simply poke my previous post that I am pretty sure you skimmed or skipped because it was too long for you to bother reading.

And can you even prove that claim about Diablo II and other games? I can't find it on any search engine, then again, I may just not be looking too far into it. You can't even die of starvation and/or dehydration in three days... Sounds like some kind of anti-gaming conspiracy theory or urban legend to me...

And have any of you who like to insult players such as myself stopped to think that some people make a living playing games? They could very possibly have more hours logged than any of us, yet I doubt you'd call them a freak. In fact, I'm willing to bet most of you want thier job.

You have a mass of gray matter between your ears (or at least, you should), so why not stop and fire up the electrodes for a few seconds before flaming?

Geeze, I hate that word, but seriously... That's all it is. I could just as easily call you a freak for not having as many hours as we do. But I don't, because not only is it wrong to do so, it's stupid. Can you justify your insults? No. Hell, I'd be happy to debate this openly, but I doubt Guru has a place for it and honestly I don't feel like getting temp banned for sticking up for the few people who actually spend time on games instead of at the mall with the masses of hormonal teenagers...

Oh, and as of this moment in time, I have played for 931 hours 32 minutes over the past 2 months. No leaving the thing running while I sleep, no leaving it running while I go out (because as I said, I rarely do).

I'm no moderator, but I think this topic should go back to what it was started for... Can we please just stick to posting our total play time and stop flaming people for the way they choose to live? Guru is a place where we can all get together and discuss Guild Wars, a common interest. So why are some of us being flamed for our interest in the game?

I shall give Avaith Faer a round of applause. I stated on Page 2 I am getting back to normal sleeping hours. I also stated that a friendship with someone ingame may become something big. Please Mods\Admins fix this thread before things get out of hand. I have a life outside of this game even though I am disabled.

Btw I barely play the game lately even though I am logged in all the time. The game has gotten a bit stale. Still fun to play with friends though. Already beat it with my W/R and E/R. Right now I am just gathering Gold and Resources for my Factions side of the future merged account.

I have only a fraction of time compared to alot of people here, but i honestly think that those who are very quick to react and make put down comments are just doing to to spite their own lack of life and take it out on people who apparently have it worse that them. Heck I have a life and I don't give a damn what other people do w/ theirs. Yeah, they get to play alot more than me, yeah, they basically are on 24/7.... so what? its not like its my business, they love the game, I like the game too, not as much as them but what does me bragging about how I'm playing less than them do anything? Honestly, you people need to get a life if you come over to these boards just to point out stupid things like that. Those who actually have a life don't bother talking about it to other people, why? because it isn't something new like a toy a kid just got, although alot of people here definitely show that symptom. Its like they just found something better to do w/ their life now they're bragging about it and putting down other people = stupid.

. Oh, well really, playing gw 12.5 hours a day is not normal. I'd rather go to gym, go out with girlfriend, even go and "work at mcdonalds". If you're sitting in front of your computer 24/7 and play play gw... what kind of life is that? I played around 3-4 hours a day starting from beta. Life is about having fun... if playing gw 24/7 is fun for you, I'm not gonna talk you out of it

Nobody here really should be insulting anyone else on how much they play. You're spending free time on a game's fansite forum. Who are you to criticize? Secondly, you don't know people's situations. Who the heck doesn't play video games in one form or another? Some play longer than others. Fat people, skinny people, ugly people, attractive people, young, old, etc. etc. all play now-a-days. Now that my rant is over, I shall get back on the thread topic--placed here for our enjoyment, yes?

Now I have quite some hours logged over my two accounts. Some of it's afk, but a lot isn't

. Do I play too much? Yes. Do I regret it, or need you to tell me I play too much? No. However, ANET has decided I NEED TO KNOW!
Now I don't have the most hours on this game I am sure...simply by looking in this thread I know I don't. My theory is that I am just too superior, and this is one way The Man is trying to Keep Me Down!

This has been going on since early today, on both of my accounts. Every hour, on the hour, I am told how many hours I have been playing since I logged on...lol. After 3 hours they tell me to TAKE A BREAK! Sheesh. The logged message you see, where I am standing in my peaceful/quiet guildhall, is where I Afked for the entire duration of these 4 hours. I haven't been farming, killing, owning, talking, or even moving an inch, and ANET decided I am far too leet to even breathe in place.

This is not photoshopped. I do not really care about it. I assume other people have been getting this too? Something to laugh about.

This message from ANet every hour is necessary. I expected it long ago. Playing 3 or 4 hours straight is not good for our bodies at all. We can play even 10 hours a day if we have time but every 3 or 4 hours we should take a break or doing something to recover. If you are afk and do nothing, I don't see why it annoys you.

You walk into the theater, buy your tub of disgustingly buttered up popcorn or candy/soda of choice, and sit on your butt for 1.5-3hours. Got some homework to do? Get going on that paper, at your classic typewriter, and I want you to do 50 sit-ups after every paragraph you write. Sporting event? MMmmm over-priced hot dogs, peanuts, soda! (It's hot folks!) and lots and lots of sitting. Need to go to class? Pull up a chair! Is it a lecture? Get cozy my friend.

Video games are the devil right? Horrible for your body! Leading cause of Death!!! And of course, it is bad for the mind. Since when I'm on guildwars, a seemingly strategic game, I am not utilizing my brain in any way whatsoever. No timing or constant reflexes, thought process or critical thinking on "How am I going to get a group" crosses my mind, because that pug will just be a disaster. But clicking that remote and watching those toons takes dexterity, and brilliance.
