I've been able to dye it purple...and yellow. But when I mix Purple and yellow to make a brown dye I apply it to the mask and it doesnt take at ALL! The color does not change. I'm using the Droks Hunters mask but I dont that that should make a difference. I really wanted to dye my mask Brown so it matches my gear...but its just not working with the mixed dye! HELP!

But I did dye it. Thats what confusing me. It lets me dye it purple...and when I dye it yellow its a weird shade but its there. Its just when I apply the brown dye it doesnt work. Maybe its a glitch?

It's not that your mask can't be dyed - it's that it can't be dyed ALL of the colors. Only the designers know whats missing in the color pallete.

I know my hand axe can't be dyed red, but I can dye it purple or silver, for example.

=(

Well if you are looking for brown why not try red+green, that always worked for me.

Dying is an experiment. You just have to try different dye combinations. I spent an uncool 8K for black on my armour, just to find out it was just grey

There's a thread in Community Works where you can let everyone know what you've found works on your mask and what hasn't.

The change IS there, it's just real subtle, and not very nice as far as brown goes. After a few k and some experimentation, I came up with the following:

From left to right:

Stock, PY, PYO, PYOO, PYO+Dye Remover, PYOS, PYO+Black, RG

All on a drok's hunter's mask.

Experimentation, it's what's great about this game. Funny thing is, PYO was my very first guess, and I like it the best of all these for it's cost/look ratio.

[edit]added RG combo. Didn't add a thumb of orange+blue because it looks too reddish to come close to brown imo.

I've done even worse. I got 15k Saintly Chest and Pants and 15k wanderers arms and legs a while back for my monk and wanted em dyed dark brown, but had to find out what combo would work. First I tried yellow+purp+black on one armor and found out it was too light. Next I tried up yellow+purp+black+black and it looked beautiful on the pants. So, I bought the 6 other black dyes needed to apply the same color to my other armor. The black dye worked great on the saintly chest of course, but apparently you can't dye wanderers armor to a dark brown. The double black dark brown only changed the color of the armor a fraction of a shade. From then on, after all that black dye and after previously discovering that straight out black dye doesn't turn druids armor into a very impressive black, I vowed to never use black dye on anything ever again...
Even worse off, after all that black dye I used on my saintly/wanderers armor, I'm probably gonna have to end up salvaging it all to make room for Factions armor

The mask is clearly tan by default.

what I meant by "take" the dye, means it doesnt take the color.

When experiementing with dyes for my 15k druids (male), I found out it dyes ALOT differently than The Inventory bags dye.

What looked Bright Lime Green on an inventroy bag turned out to be a NICE shade of yellowish/greenish white (Off White that is) on my armor.
