Drop Rates the real truth?

Im hearing different ways that drop rates work... but can anyone tell me how they really work?

Does your personal drop rate decrease overtime or does the amount of farming going on in an area decrease the drop rates? And is it segemented by servers? Does favor change the green drop rate?

I don't do to many HOH or SF runs but i know for IDS i got 3 when we had favor and none after we (america) lost it
