Not sure if this has been suggested for Guild Wars yet, and it's come to my attention other games contain a similar feature, but how about we get some sort of alarm clock added to the game?

Reason being that Guild Wars, much like any game you might enjoy, can suck up time and have you losing track of time, but lets say you could set an alarm before you start playing to remind you its time to go do your homework, sleep, shower, or go to work after 3 or 4 hours, etc.

Granted it's not exactly a high priority item, but I'd say a fair share of other players would find it useful.

There is already a babysitter thingy that tells me how long I'm playing. Use an alarm clock, man.

I've been late to work a few times from not noticing the time.

Because I dont look away from the screen. :/

I actually have a clock right above/behind my screen in my view but I dont always look up at it. And my desk is actually a fold up table and my computer takes up all but 3 inches of it.

I heard a rumor that alarm clocks may be purchased in certain retail outlets (some of us may use the more familiar term 'merchant')

there's another rumor that item crafters in the strange outpost called 'in real life' can craft this:

25 gold + 1 plastic shopping bag + 1 paper receipt = 1 alarm clock (they may even be customized!)

I was thinking more along the lines of a simple command, something like /alarm 3:30, and it would pop a message up in 3 hours, 30 minutes. nothing overly complicated, and as cheap as it makes me and other sound, alot of players don't have alarm clocks sitting beside them while playing, nor would they want to go buy them.

I like to know what time it is when I play the game, but the inability to track time will be the same inability to obey it when the alarm goes off. If the desk alarm clock cant get you to stop playing Guild Wars, the one in Guild Wars won't do any different.

Maybe an auto shutoff to convince those real stubbern people that they got real life issues to deal with. lol. Dont want to get a real alarm clock download an alarm clock for the computer and have it running in the background. When it goes off it will give you an audio alarm and may even minimize GW on you.

I don't think we really need the game to babysit for us any more than it already is. There are computer programs that you can set that will do this for you, or you can buy a watch. Also, I know my cell phone has an alarm feature.

I'd much rather ANet concentrate on things like fixing the trading system, rather than focusing on silly things for people who can't/won't set a watch.

Oh and we dont really need text chat in game because we can all download TS or vent and talk to people.

Why do people like to take things away from others? Or prevent them from getting it in the first place? What does it hurt you if a clock or alarm clock is put in game? Just because you wont use it doesnt mean others wont either.

This is directed at everyone against the idea. Adding this feature is not a time consuming thing. There would still be plenty of time for Factions and chapter 3 and whatever else.

Nobody is saying this is some high priority item. If they wait until chapter 3 to add then so be it. Whatever. It would still be a nice little addition.
