GW Model Viewer

Is there a model viewer for Guild Wars, like the one for World of Warcraft? I can't find one anywhere...

Perhaps a description of what a 'model viewer' is? Not all Guild Wars players have played World of Warcraft.
Maybe the name is self explanatory, but who knows what types of evil names Blizzard can come up for things.

I would assume it views the character models (or maybe every model)
Either way there isnt one that I know of.

I have seen some videos of WoW interfaces that show a 3d render of your target, but you could be talking about a mesh viewer or something.
Either way, no.

As far as I know the gw.dat file has not been "cracked" yet to be able to extract resources.
I did see a wiki devoted to being able to extract the gw.dat file and they sounded like they made progress but did not say how they did it. Something about there is no file stop / file start markers in the gw.dat (one big file but the client knows where the files start and stop that it needs. I don't remeber the site off hand.
I'd say give it time.. then beware of keyloggers if it shows up.

and a little more talking of it.: http://wiki.xentax.com/index.php/Talk:Guild_Wars_DAT
I Personally wish Anet would allow us to see the files in there, as that could open up things such as Character Builders (such as armor looks, colors, facial features.. etc..) but think they don't want people to make KeyLoggers hidden in the Character Builders.
one guy said he extracted 9104 files from it, just wish he gave a how-too... i just wanna see whats in there, not modify them.

I don't really see the point in extracting data, because you can't really add anything onto the game. The models, textures, and sounds are probably in their own format anyway.
The only benefit from messing with the DAT file I can see is more hacking.

Well you could replace the all the models with new models, or mix them up so, at least on your own screen, you look like an avicara or all trolls have neon skin or just basic visual nonsense.

Anyway, there are artists and 3D modellers or even just the curious who just like to take a look at the models, textures and sounds. It's sort of a way to learn how things are done or just to appreciate it. Pffft hacking is the only benefit...pfft!

Look at the models, textures, and sound? I can think of one good place that doesn't require hacking a binary data file...
Like I said before, the aforementioned are most likely in a proprietary format (see: id software), and would require separate software written based on experimentation (see: goliathvt's md5mesh viewer and exporter etc.)
I can only see abuse stemming from it, ie. replacing all monk skins with neon-green, all mesmer with neon-pink, etc. to give an unfair advantage in identifying targets at range to the modifier of the data. Feel free to propose something that is actually worth the work, other than perusing the assets (once again, I already know a place...)
[edit]Just to clear things up, I'm aware that WoW is fairly extendable, but only within the bounds of Blizzard's specifications.

To be honest, I don't think that people are really too afraid to break the rules. The real reason is what EternalTempest said:
FFXI had some pretty separate and easy files to crack, so it was easy to create an algorithm that can read each file and pull info from it. GW.dat is just one big hunk of file that could take a large effort to decode.
This is very unlikely, for the reason above: GW.dat is a huge file that cannot be easily modified.

========================
I do remember that some people accidently encounter a GW debug mode during the beta, where the character lose all their meshes (in game) and show their polygon. That was the closest thing I had seen in terms of "Model Viewing".
