Everybody has encountered that one time when they're coming up with hilarious names for their pets when, on occasion, an odd word will come up as not being allowed. Examples of this include swears and the word "Henchman" (for obvious reasons).

I came across an odd one today. I tried naming my pet "Fur Abortion," only to find that the word "abortion" is not allowed. [Removed comments regardin abortion, lest this go wildly off-topic in a way it really shouldn't.]

Anybody know of any other awkward words not allowed by GW?

I made a whammo just for helping a friend do the northlands in pre-searing. I figured since whammos usually aren't the brightest I'd call him Timbo Bimbo in honor of a klutzy companion at work. It won't let you use the word "bimbo" :P

I read somewhere that they block 'Democrat', 'Republican' and such... haven't tested it...
I seem to recall a wammo named 'George Dubya', so I can't imagine they censor politics -too- closely.

Also, try "Skate" or "Skater" for pet names. They're also dissallowed for some reason...

I thought it was odd that we're not allowed to say or use the word 'boobs' (talking about how some of our gals boobs jiggle - characters had to be made by a very hard up person - but I digress..)

Yet, I saw a character named 'Rockhard Nipple'.

I'm just prudish enough that I'd rather see 'boobs' be able to be used than that name.

"Morphin" is not allowed in Guild Names. I remember trying to form Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. We had to settle for Might Morphen Power Rangers.

Perhaps it's a reference to a drug. Morphene? I honestly don't know how to spell it, but apparently, it can be used to prevent pain while in an operation as it loosens your..focus..

Technically it is, Many jewish people get offended if you leave out the "ish" after the "jew".

Morphine is an illegial drug, so I can see why they'd sensor that, but it's kind of silly that they would censor it as a misspelling, seeing as how "morphin" is a common term for changing.

I also find it humorous that they censor when you call target on "Damned Cleric" and it says "I'm attacking ----ed Cleric!!". Yet the NPCs say damned or damn on several occasions. Funny contradiction.

EDIT: They won't let you use "Figaro"? Isn't that an opera song? I also looked it up and it's the name of Pinnochio's cat. So unless it's a copyright issue, that's not cool :P

Ive learned two important things about or GW community.. a name with sexual connotations will get you free stuff. ( eazy sleazy has gotten over 12k in plat, 4 green bows, ran free to sanctum cay played right at 34 hours- Ivana blowju got ran from free from ascalon to droks by the same person and again free ran to cay from beacons.. 26k in plat total victos axe and blade for free played 23hours..) people assume with a female char im a female player...Ive tried explaining " look six months with the same male chars gets old" then I get the "omg ur gay!!" and have to explain well actually nope my Name isnt "insert char name" its actually Samuel.. then theres the retort " but yopu named your char Ivana blowju so U gotta be gay wanting to blow me" and to which I reply.. " didnt you just give me 5k in plat? and a victos axe? k thks bbye

"Lolita" is a forbidden word.
I had no idea what it meant when I tried to use it in my character's name... I just thought it sounded like a good name... lol

I was so happy when i found my pets name was allowed.

The name aint so bad but i thought it might have been a blocked one, ya never no!

"W hore" is censored. That eliminated around 300 names I was going to use for my female PvP toons.

So I typically go with "Lady Gutterhore." Or for the update, "Bosomy Was Vampira."

At least I can get away with my Mesmer being named "Mantra of Poontang." I had to alter "bitches" for the name "Biches and Hos Beware," however, but oh well.

And no, I don't roleplay, so leave me the hell alone you freaky perverted guys. Some guy was actually like, "Hubba hubba!" to one of my female toons.

Morphin E as a guild name could get GW in some trouble if the younger gamers say something.

Anyways the filters should not just get rid of certain words but in the context it is used it

For example: puss should not be banned if used as Puss in Boots. However, if it is Puss Y then something should be done.

For the Targeting a damned cleric, turn off your chat filter.

I can definitly agree with Lolita being blocked since it refers to females under 18 yrs of age in a non G-rated manner.

Blocking individual letters is just plain dumb.
