I was making this small chart for my guildies to help me decide which color I would dye my factions armor with, using the current Knight armor gloves as a test subject. I was playing around with dye remover and got one interesting result...

The difference between the mixes in the purple + green combination caught my eye, as the one with the dye remover was just the Jade Green-ish color I had been looking for, but what do they actually put into that stuff to give such a different result when compared to the blue+green mix

Try it again with yellow instead of dye remover.

Wow, talk about useless replies... I would have to say, a very strong bleach. I find it particularly funny that you can make your own colored dye remover, if you really want to. I really don't think it matters much though. It's logical that it may be magical bleach or just some concoction made by some kind of wannabe alchemist in Tyria or something.

From what I've heard, I believe that Dye Remover actually dyes it the base color of whatever the armor is... so on a greenish base (i.e. mesmer colors) a dye remover would add that kinda color to it. Not 100% sure, but thats what I've heard.

Megla, this is true for the majority of cases as far as I am aware.
Green + red on mesmer armour = red + remover.
Since it is cheaper to buy remover this can save a lot of money

Dye remover waters the base color of the armor.

yea, if you have an armor with yellow as it's base color, red+remover would be the same as red+yellow.

what do they put in dye removers...acid perhaps?
