I've got the problem that if iTunes is playing music in the backgroud and GW is running, the music gets all blurred... is there something I can do about it? Some file I need to delete or something? Please help. Thanks!

I'd try disabling sound completely in Guild Wars (not just adjusting the volume sliders down) when you start the game up. To do this right-click your shortcut for Guild Wars and view properties. In the Target field add --nosound at the end.

Example:
"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" --nosound

I don't play mp3's or movies in the background, and don't know if this solution will help you. I think there's a good chance it will though. Good luck.

If you want to play the game with sound again just delete --nosound from your shortcut, or load the game with a different shortcut.

"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -nosound

its only a guess, I only tried itunes once and noticed its resource hungery and I /uninstall it...

but it does disable the gw sound, even if you move the sliders nothing will happen, works fine with my winamp.

This solution worked for me too. Tried running iTunes with GW and iTunes got all stuttery (and then, for some bizarre reason, started playing everything at double-tempo...weird :s) but running gw with -nosound has cured it. Thx for the idea.

Creative audigy 4 soundcard btw, if anyone else has the same probs.

Hehe my old thread ^^ Well I can run iTunes with GW sound now... Donno why and I didn't change anything but it works fine. Maybe they fixed some of the sound bugs.

you can try opening the QuickTime preferences from Control Panel and changing the audio rate to 48 kHz and checking safe mode if it starts happening again

I want a real fix not a workaround, I like hearing the Guild Wars sounds.

iTunes 7 from a lot of reports I've been reading has been rather buggy. If it stopped working after the update, I would wait till they update it our downgrade back to version 6.

May want to try -mute instead -nosound. Gaile in a post mentioned about this disables the sound system. I suspect -nosound mutes volune where -mute turns off the GW sounds system off and may give you more of a peformance boost but not able to confirm that yet.
