Hello all, first time post here for me. Been reading the forums for a long time. Anywho... I'm more of a PvE guy myself, comming from other MMO's I just tend to like it a bit more. I do play PvP however. This is where i realized something for the release of factions, that may give Proph players, that merge, and create a new lvl 1 character, to have a sick advantage. In PvE I made a warrior, named lets say, Mr X. and i got 15k glads armor for him, and dyed it black. Then i put the armor in my storage, and i deleted him. Why? Because whenever i make my PvP warrior, i name him Mr X and just put on the nice 15k armor that i dyed. If i want to change his build, i take the armor off, delete him, and remake him, and put the armor back on. Yeah it may take like 30 seconds longer to go thru this process, but so what, atleast i can look good in PvP, and can keep remaking him.

BUT back to the topic. Why not just create a character (of the same primary you are planning on making at the release of factions) and quest or run your way to droks (doesnt even have to be 15k, cause ill want factions 15k) and buy a set of armor or 2, put it in storage, and delete ur character. At Factions release just make ur character with that name, and provided you merged your accounts, he will have level 80AL waiting for him in storage, right out of pre-searing... or whatever the factions equivilant is called.

I may be totally wrong on all of this, but from experience it works for me and my PvP character. I think its atleast worth a try for factions, another incentive for merging accounts, anywho, i dont know, so any kind of feedback would be nice. Thanks.

wait this actually works? i've always had the impression that each character has its own unique "DNA" and anything customized for it wont work on other toons with the same name. maybe its an exception in PvP toons with the same name. but hey if it works for PvE those who merge accounts will have a major advantage.

Since you can already get run all the way from Post-searing Ascalon to Droknars, this already happens. It's called twinking and is pointless unless you really like "bashing the nubs". I get bored when people have top level stuff early in the game and just zoom through everything.

this doesn't work. it was fixed back in Beta. i higly doubt they brought it back (even if they might have done so unintentionally)

its very easy to test though. create a PvP character, take his armor off, and make another with the same name. if it fits.. it fits

In my experience, even if you delete the character and then remake another
one exactly the same in every way, including the nickname, the armour wont
fit on that character?

I once tried this from a ranger i had in pre-searing with her collector armour!
and when i remade the character i made it exactly the same in every way
but the armour wouldnt work for me.

Yes i know theres no storage in pre-searing.

I had a friend who was also in pre-searing keep hold of all my weapons and armour
until i came back about 20 mins later and then he traded all my items back to me.

It's called a hash folks. Armor get's stamped with the creating character's hash value when it's made. Any time you try to put on an armor both hash values are compared. != means you can't wear it.

Wow, lol I tried this like 8 months ago and already figured it won't work. If so, total chaos would be happening with drok or fow armor in Ascalon Arena and all this. Free max armor, omg who would think of such a thing?!

According to this it WORKS for him which is unbelievable since i remember testing it long long ago and it didn't work then.

Ruphfus >> can you confirm that it does indeed work for you or that are just your speculations ?
