Hi Guys! This crackes me up so bad that I had to share it with you all.

I'm running elona's reach mission and bonus for a group and when I get to the ghost with the last crytal everyone pays but this one guy who claims that, "I am not a scammer!"

So I'm like fine... if that's true then give me your armor as collateral and you can pay me after the mission for the armor. He does so and then after the mission demands his armor or he'll report me for stealing it! In the end he later confessed to being a scammer, and said he didn't have the gold... I still have his armor! lol to bad there's not runes in them

They're worthless other than the laugh I got out of watching him run around the town naked.

Always good to catch scammers in the act. If it was decent armor, you should salvage it and give him back the materials.

lmao hahaha, I love it, good job. I think I saw somebody in droks a while back that said he lost his armor and was begging people for money, lol, wonder if it was the same guy.

I love this idea! It was knight's armor...

nah i'll be nice and give him a few weeks to come up with the 1K. Much longer and i'm going to want interest and payment for my wasted storage space.

So how you you guys treat him? I didn't report him. I see that as a waste of ANet's time.

so he said give me your armour as compensation im like 15k barbed necro tattoos aint wortht tht so i gave him mogriffs staff and then exchanged it for money lol trust is the key if you look the part you can play it

Probably because he thought his threat of reporting me for "stealing" his armor would intimidate me enough to cough it back up. HA! ... i took lots of screen shots for proof.

FoW armour does salvage into ectos, do a search on these boards and you will find a thread with a dude who did it.

Get all business-like with him. Have one of your guildies pm him all serious and be like, "I've purchased the rights to a set of Knight's Armor from (your character) for the sum of 1000 gold. You have 4 days to claim this armor for purchase price + 20%. If 1200 gold is not recovered at that point, the armor will be auctioned for the raw materials."

Couldn't disagree more. It's simply a service offered by some in the game world, just as the material guy offers a service (though running isn't tangible, of course)....choose to use it, or choose not to. As someone said, ANet has no problem with it and if they did it'd be easy to stop.

Reminds me of something I once did. This guy asked me to help level him up. So I agreed and took him into one of the mission areas. The idiot aggroed a whole load of charr. He died so I started playing the violin while standing over his body. Ressurrected him. He aggroes the charr again, I told him to give me his armor to put runes on, so I did put some cheap superior runes on. He aggroes the charr again, dies after one hit since his health is extremely low. I was playing the violin over his body for atleast 5 minutes. XD

He was pretty new to the game. He didn't know what runes were. He spammed me with whisps for atleast 2 hours asking what to do. XD Good times, I love being evil.
