Suggestion: a non-noobs Random Arenas

In my view, Random Arenas are undersetimated, and a part of this case of underestimation is that Random Arenas are presented in the game as starters battle grounds.

Random Arenas is a battle ground were: a) team builds b) Team Speak c) Guilds teams are irrelevant.

So, in Random Arenas team work may be more important than in all the other grounds, because, in Random Arenas, team work is the only remaining thing after you take out a) team builds, and c) Guilds teams. I think, that lacking of b) Team Speak or Vent or Skype may be one more reason to think that team work based in players actions, what you can see and heard ingame, and simple calls. Anycase, Team Speak or Vent, Skype are not needed when there are languages barriers, and I think that many RA players do not miss this means of communication.

So, I suggest, to add Team Arenas in Ascalon, and the Siverpeak, as well as allowing to PvP starters to go into Team Arenas directly. So that Random Arenas is a more serious battle ground.

If not, I suggest to make some high level Random Arenas.

I believe Toluus when sais:"Here people from all over the world participate in the purest form of combat. Unpredictable territory, unfamiliar allies..." but, think my skill and my will to survive will help me, ... cooperation with 3 more players is as well quite relevant to be said... to be a help

Well, this message may be laughed by some or may be though to be controverted by other, but, I think, that to play in random teams is a game style in its own, and I hope that some more may understand this as well.

I'd just really like to see a 6 or 8 person random arena. An 8 person random arena with HoH maps would be cool. It would allow people to get experiance on the maps without needing to sit around forever building a team.

Until recently PVP starters could go directly to team arenas. The random arena was no less a wretched hive of scum and incompetence than it is today.

Alliance battles in Factions. Random 12v12 battles.

Well, it seems that with GW:Factions there will be some new Random and Half-Random battle grounds.

In my view, the 12v12 Alliance battles are Half-Random as you can enter mission being 1 player or you enter mission within a 4 players team... I expect that as these Half-Random battle grounds will be played by those who choose to play in them, they won't be starters' ("noobs'") battle grounds.

But, I think, that the Random Battlegrounds embedded in the story as PvP missions will still be for starters rather than for end-game players.

May be a suggestion, that I am thinking now, is: make Ascalon and the Siverpeak arenas hybrid arenas, so that a player may enter mission to be included in a random team or the player may make a team with other players to enter mission. I think, this may work for low level arenas, but, not for high level. I think, that for end-game there is a need of some Random Arenas as there isn't any. The present Random Arenas have been though for PvP starters.

Yesterday the "search engine" did not work for me. To see how relevant or irrelevant had been to start this thread. Today I have found a thread which may be related to this one.

I will not offer links to these because, in my view, "more PvP arenas", "more Arenas maps" and "a Random Team buttom in HA" is not enough on topic with this thread.

A thread with a suggestion for what I will call tentatively Middle Arenas. I offer the link just because the difficulty to explain it, but, my view, is that it is a different topic:

They are not completely random (you will have to form a group of 4 first) and it doesnt use HoH maps. Thats what I'm looking for.


12vs12 is probably what I'll be playing the most in Factions.

Pvp with random allies is like farming. Sometimes your lucky but most of the time your not.

Faction Battles are 8vs8 random battles... They include npc's, but it's still based around the players and how well they do to complete the objective and kill opponents...................

Ahh. I wish to add some comments about why some players think that Random Arenas players are not skilled... besides having been made a starters arenas...

The system of disbanding the defeated team, but keeping the victorious team, makes it very likely that some team (either because the build or because the players game) may win many times in a row, and then that a player may win many times in a row. A player which has won many times in a row, may think of herself that it is because being more skilled than other, but, the main cause, really, may be because this system of playing.

If both teams, the defeated and the victorious, were disbanded, or if both teams were disbanded only after several rounds*, -let's suggest 3-5 rounds-, it would be less likely that a player were able to win so many times in a row (either because the builds change or because the players change). I think that this system would make to be a greater challenge to play in the Random Arenas.

I think this second system is more similar to the coming "Alliance Battles", because in these both teams are disbanded after the battle.


*note: in the case a player wants to leave a team might be able to do it in between battles, then being randomly substituted.
**note: to play Alliance Battles in Factions I just clicked the mission buttom whilst being a single player and I was put together with other 11 players.
