Ok lets see if the guru tech collective can help me as I so want this sorted.
My problem is my client lags randomly and freezes then finally er7's at VERY differing times. I have stopped playing because of it as in the middle of gvg i can freeze and err7 etc etc.
I have a wireless network set up and I have tracked it down to packet loss I think.
As the game is running the connection is running fine.. I'll be on teamspeak actually talking at the ame time then while i'm still talking GW's will er7. Its driving me insane as it keeps happening at really inopurtune times.
Worst one was at thk.. final wave of harsh jade's/boss etc and i'm the bonder.. guess what happens to the team when i er7
The actual pattern of events 99% of the time goes like this.
-Casting something/walking or just standing still
-game freezes, all i can do is look around
-skills keep flashing but no cast
-10secs-5mins of freeze
-Game re-engages and sends ALL the lost info to me, which for the 1 second the game stays online means all movements/damage numbers chat and other things that have happened occur all at the same time.
-Then it err7's me i'm assuming under the load.
I can't go to a cable based internet hook up untill I move in july.
Is there a fix for thsi at all... if it was my connection I wouldn't mind but every other game is fine. Every other executable that uses the internet is fine even. Lol i can even keep using teamspeak while the game freezes and er7's me so it CANNOT be a lack of connection.
Idea's? Otherwise i'm just going to have to give up on gw's which I really don't want to do.
Is there a solution?

Not sure if this would work or not, but; Turn of Windows Firewall, and also any other Firewalls of your own you have.

Are your running on a router?

Since your DSL it could be a few problems..
I would start with your computer, Checking as suggested above, and disabling any firewalls, doing the regular clean out tasks, such as spyware check, virus check etc..
check the modem connection to the PC, check/replace the cable (if possible)
if all thats fine, are you using a router??? If so, try mapping the port (6112 TCP/UDP) to your PC
Next, i would check your filter thats plugged into your phone socket (If you have thoes where you live) also, if your using a phone extension, try changing it, or checking it for any breaks, or even try the modem/computer without the extension.
Next to check could be with the phone company, call them up, tell them you have been having problems, tell them what you have done and checked, and ask them to check the line, and increse the gain on the line.. if this STILL doesnt resolve it.. then its drastic measure time..
first... re-install your computer (Format, and reinstall windows). if you still have problems, borrow a friends modem.. yours could be faulty... and finally, if you STILL have problems, get the phone company then the ISP to send out an engineer and let them do thier job...
