Any character can do it (although i only realized it by accident when my Necro was about to start it, a Ranger asked me to do the quest with him

A short info about the Cities of Ascalon Quest.
1. Symon the scribe can be found is Ascalon. Go to Tydus and find the stairs that will bring you to Northern Wall. Facing the wall with dragon, turn left and go down. You'll find Symon.
2. You'll be asked to find 3 markers. The first two are easy to find but the other one can only be accessed doing the Ruins of Surmia mission (your first mission with Rurik). The marker is located in the entrance of the ruins (before you open the gate for rurik).

BTW those who have a -50hp offhand. The -50hp offhand will go on a sudden craze because of...well the -50 is now nerfed. You can't get it anymore. In case you werent around. The +5 energy HoD sword u all hear about, it was easy to get and then they nerfed...and b4 factions and the +5 energy on many weapons, they were worth anywhere from 100-500k! Do NOT sell ur -50 for a long time...and with any luck, u will get that much (just cause it will be really wanted for 55 monks in the future).

However, i dont blame you for being confused but dont talk if you havent done the quest. The quest reward description says it gives a different item for the reward but it infact gives the -50 hp grim cesta.
Much the same as the quest Fires in the East for my ranger's trapping staff it says it gives some rubbish staff but actually gives the nice one for the rangers.
