Huge Lag

Has anyone else experienced more lag since the last update? I know I have. It would be one thing if I was on dial up, but I have a 4 Mb cable connection. I was just wondering if this was happening to just me or if anyone else has experienced it to.

I've been experiencing a lot more too, and I'm on 3 Mb cable. I just figured it was a problem with my ISP though. Interesting to see if other people have had problems.

sme problem here , all my guildies have also been experiencing the problem (just to clarify - this has only been since the update). Im currently on 10mb Broadband , 1gig ram optimum gaming graphics and im still experiencing server "blips" where the game is near unplayable.

I've experienced more lag than usual and, for some reason, it seems to lag more when I'm playing my ranger.

I was also kicked out of the game my first time ever when I attempted to zone between, um, the area containing Frontier Gate and the area containing Serenity Temple. The moment I hit the portal, boom, connection dropped. And no, it wasn't my internet connection, despite what the message said.

I am running on a dedicated T1 line and I see enoromous lag. It has nothing to do with your internet connection. It has to do with things on the Anet side. Keep in mind also that while you are playing, you are STILL downloading Factions. Keep in mind that Factions is a rather HUGE patch...I believe around 500-600MB of data (from what I heard). So, just imagine maintaining your standard gameplay and THEN downloading that kind of file in the background.

I thought we'd already downloaded Factions. When I sit at the login screen, nothing is downloading.

It downloads in the background bro. It does not say anything about it, but it is there. Gaile Gray stated this at one of her conferences in LA International 1 awhile ago.

have allso a 4mbit internet access.

There was an update for intel chipset 82852/82855 graphics card which kept booting me out off game, i reinstalled the older drivers from intel site works fine again now. Maybe this could be a problem for you too? otherwise a good full system scan can work wonders sometimes.

May or May not be realted to the 3D Audio update - Some have reported lag after the april 6th update and the April version of DirectX 9c - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en seems to fix it for some.

But this will only update lag caused by 3D Audio engine, lag may be caused by other things.

Lag hasn't been too bad in game for me, however, I get hung up at the log in screen waiting for the character selection screen for 3 to 5 minutes every time I want to log in now. It's been happening for the almost two weeks now. Anyone encountered this?

Just a suggestion - try running a defrag on the computer. The .dat file for Guild Wars is huge, and updates are constantly being streamed in. That may help; it did for me.

I haven't noticed any downloads for Factions as it will all download as soon as the game comes out.That download was all about Factions FPE I get lag every once in awhile but that is becuase I need more ram.

I've also noticed a conciderable amount of lag, at first I thought it was a "only in town" kind of thing or something. I went out to go farm, and I was still getting some lag, almost got killed a few times because of it. Is factions really still loading onto our systems? I was thinking it was something else, and checking my connection and settings.

crazy lag spikes that are happening to me are owning me, i got a 3 mbps cable connection and this never happened before to me, i think it is factions loading or something.
