To the OP:

I dont think THK is made easier (since the simplification some 7-8 months ago) I think you where just lucky with your spawns. Some combo's are really annoying (I once had a healer AND a warrior boss at the same time...) others relatively simple (certainly when only one boss is coming...)

About the general difficulty on THK: I think the main problem is ppl who know what to do. Same you see in elona, where ppl draw agro you cant handle. Both missions are doable when you know what to do. Of course the timer in elona is adding a lot to the fun, so you cant lure/kill the entire map by taking your time...

Advantage of THK is that you can do it with henchies, which is hardly impossible in elona (at least when you use the sneaking tactics...).

I like those "hard" mission, and once you complete them they are a lot simpler. The same I had with the Titan quests, first you are wondering how to do it: defense of North Kryta was a pain in the..., but now I am farming those titans solo...Its just the unknown that makes the missions difficult and therefore nice! I like to adapt for a specific mission. I dont like missions you can take with your "standard" build...

THK wasnt directly made easier (since alot of months ago), but there are a number of spawns now that are much easier than others.

Its luck of draw...sometimes...like yourself...you get almost no enemies spawned.

Sniff, man, that was funny.

I've been in countless PUGs in Elona that couldn't even get to the cutscene. Seriously. I've done elonas, thirsty river, THK, etc many many many (more than I want to remember) times and it's no contest. I've only failed THK in PUGs maybe three times, I've spent an entire weekend joining PUGs trying to get through the desert.

Everyopne has their own perspective, but from my extensive experience, THK isn't that hard. The hard part is when n00bs do the countless things people talk about (running outside the fort, monks not keeping both sides healed, not falling back when needed, etc).
Well I usually do the desert with henchies. I only do Pugs and Guild groups for Thirsty because I think you really need real people to do that mission since it is designed around a PvP type scenario. As for THK though I did find out one thing. If you can get everyone to agree to it and not tense up at the thought of leaving the fort uyou can head to the north where there is a nice chokepoint just to the south of where all the waves spawn at. A trapper can hold them off all day there. I'm thinking about doing that after the Stone Summit wave for my next attempt at this mission because I want spike trap for ettin farming with my ranger.

I've never had any problems with THK, you just need a group that listens and knows how to use the catapults.... they make the mission 100x easier. :]

I'd rather say Hells Precipice is harder because of the group issues and henchway is almost impossible

Ahh yes, Victory is ours! My wife and I beat it earlier last night. 3rd time's the charm. Just us two and henchies. And yeah, it is much easier once you know how to do it. We were a little too panicked before and trying to use the ballistas, found out you don't need them and they are quite an evil temptation if anything.

Word of advice on this mission: Camp the King the entire time, take each mob one at a time, and save any and all bosses for last, no matter how tempting it is to kill them. Oh and, relax, the Mursaat really are pushovers, lol.

I did it as the only monk, my energy never even got low in the 'hard' parts.

Where do you normally get problems with henches? I henched precipice for all 3 of my chars after failing twice in a row with a human group on my first.

If it's at the portals, you just have to charge in and cut off the fists and hands as they're spawning from the lava pool, because I imagine it would be pretty hard for henches not to aggro the whole area if they manage to gather around the portals.
