Random HoH Group

I was thinking, How about a random HoH style grouping area? The group would not be mixed with the organized groups and would award 1 fame a win.

Such a move would convince me and many others to gradually shift over to Organized HoH, much as how many of us RA'ers do TA once in a while.

I've always wanted to participate in HoH but since I can't make deer pop out of my chect, I am branded a noob. I think ANet needs to make HoH more accessable to other players...a random arena for HoH would do that.

It would also make the fame/rank system even more of a meaningless joke than it is now. Random 8vs8 would just twice as chaotic and unskilled as Random Arena is already.

Actually it doesn't matter. Random groups lose anyway and the first 2-3 levels will natually be random and the upper levels are organized.

Therefore random will likely to match against random and organized will be matched against organize in the same enviroment.

Sorry, but Fame can not get anymore meaningless. You cant say random is unskilled, TA Guild teams get rolled by random teams almost every match. A henchway I was in won flawless fighting a top 50 Guild Blood Spike, and they started as soon as I accidently pressed Accept on the invite.

Twice as unskilled as RA? Nah, thats GvG. Warriors dueling left and right, Monks not even being attacked. RA x 2 = GvG, Just not random teams.

I kinda like it, but the "people" that populate the area will object wholeheartedly.

But the concept is sound. Make it just like the 12v12 area. 2 parties of 4 merging together for a party of 8. Or just joining and being placed into a group that needs more people automatically. 4+1+2+1=8 type of thing if need be. Just like the alliance battles area...

Solves oh so much of the attitude that is prevalent in HA as we speak... Not even wanting to give a new person a chance to play in the area. I took a few new people in today and we did get beat by an Iway team in the end, but it really didn't matter. We got to the courtyard... It was fun to bring in a few new people into an area that they have been locked out of by the rankest jerks that populate it.

and this is a thing who happen always or it happen one time? from what i can see i will always bet for a high ranked guild or a ranked team to beat a unraked one , ALWAYS sure sometime it happen the unraked win but that is just a exception

and about the second part of what you wrote well you can believe whatever you want .

You can be a believer too, just observe any Guild vs Guild match.

Monks are not always highest priority. There are sometimes far more important threats.

You should probably participate in a few GvGs before making unsubstantiated claims like this.

The current system is a catch 22. To earn fame you need to fight in HA, to fight in HA you need fame. It seems to me that the system is broken and that the only people to get anything higher than a rank 3 are people who jumped aboard the IWAY bandwagon. If you're rank 9, I DARE you to look me in the eye and tell me you didn't get that way by IWAYing.

This system would also improve the current way of organizing teams which is to spend about an hour organizing a team, having people leave or the party disintigrate before it's just right, and maybe if you're lucky enough you'll have 8 patient people that will walk in, get smoked, and leave, thus wasting all that time puting the team toegther.

A random HoH group that fought only other random HoH groups would allow unskilled players to slowly grasp the concepts of HoH and earn fame while doing it, so that learning is rewarded. Currently learning is not rewarded as when you come to the HA for the first time, unless you've got that deer, you're not going anywhere, even if you have FOW armor, a crapload of faction from RA or millions of exp.

The system is grossly unfair, and the only way to balance it is to reset the ranks every time they do an update. That being impossible, the next best thing is this. You think HoH isnt chaotic right now? Head over there right now and look at all the people bitching about how they can't earn fame because they're not ranked. If that's not chaotic, I don't know what is.

This sort of system would award fame for learning how to play the game without getting in all the expireinced HoHers way, would end the rank discrimination we see plauging Guild Wars and allow everyone access to play this part of the game.

Guild Wars was never intended to be such an elitist populace, look at the level system. It's capped at level 20 and rewards players for skill, not time spent playing. The current HoH system is a hypocrosy of that and my idea could be the thing to turn it around.

i smiled at that one, seriously, first of all, it's not dueling, it's adrenalin build-up, and warriors rarely kite, so i usually either use a warrior, an NPC or a pet to charge up my adrenalin. As for monks not being attacked, not realy true, depends on the style of build, if you have the damage output/coordination to take down someone else, why even bother with monks ? they are no threat to you, and are just a "priority target" because they keep the real threats standing on their feet. If you can kill those real threats with the monks still up, why even bother with killing monks first ...

What better way to give me free fame by beating random groups?
No offense, but your idea will never be implemented, at least not in HA. Arenanet wants everyone to have a fair chance to win. With 99% of real builds (by "real" i mean "not iway") using a voice program, it would be nearly impossible for a random group to get past Underworld.

Because you did not read what I had to say, you completley lost the point that I was trying to make when you made that statement.

You said that a random team could never beat one using a voice program.. Now look at what I said in the second sentence of my first post: The group would not be mixed with the organized groups and would award 1 fame a win.

Before deciding on someone elses idea. Make sure you read ALL of it as opposed to prejudging.

Read it. It's not just mindless babble.

Best way to do this is introducing a random 8v8 arena. If a team in it wins 5 in a row or so, bump them into the HoH.

BTW, HoH stinks right now because unless you are in a guild or are lucky enough to find a random PuG, there are only 2-3 group builds that most people will create meaning if you don't fit in, you don't play. I don't have a necro and I refuse to do iway, so that leaves out 2 commonly used builds for me.

But fame needs to be rewarded for those fights too, otherwise even getting into the hoh players will more often than not just get obliterated.

This is exactly what I was thinking about in the other thread. It would be a 8vs8 random area with HoH maps but you wouldnt be with the actual HoH players. You earn just 1 fame per win instead of the way actual HoH is where it increases per win. That way you dont earn 5 ranks in a day by doing random areas all the time but you still earn fame showing you are experienced with the maps. Thats what fame is all about anyway isnt it? Experience? Knowing the maps? Then this will do just that.
