Hey guys im new to the pvp part of GW. Last night i was in a group for the iway zaishan challenge with a ranger who told everyone to stand back. he laid down an insane amount of traps and the opposing team was dead in seconds. i tried to get more info on his build and how to do it, but he was not too helpful. maybe you guys could help me out.

I know he had a staff, quickening zeph, serp quickness, frozen soil, and i know i saw dust trap. as for the rest i cant really remember. any help would be great.

spike trap, barbed trap and flame trap and then maybe mantra of resolve

do note that serpents quickness and mantra of resolve do not stack, as they're both stance and you can only use one stance at a time, so he most likely used serpent's till the opponents came close, and then switched to mantra to prevent his traps from being interupted...

matra of resolve would likely be useless at that point due to the higher energy cost of traps under QZ, I personally would bring whirling def.

thanks a ton guys. any idea what staff to use? or does it even matter. And is this even worth buying the skills for, or do you eventually stop gaining faction points in the zaishen challenge?

Its what we call a trapper and in most circumstances they dont work too well. The Staff needs to be one with +10 energy modification, thats what its there for. All in all, Trapper may be able to destroy IWAY in seconds, Againt Human players you may find them less effective.

Most sought after trapping staff is the one you get in old Ascalon (Fires in the East mission?). It has a few +energy over a certain health mods. Slap on a +5 insightful head and you're good to go.
