I got mine from Ceru Gloomrunner in the Iron Mines of Moladune mission. Easy, go with a group who is doing the mission, more than likely you will come across him and need to kill him to get passed.

Hey, thanks for the reply.. I don't have that mission unlocked so maybe thats why I haven't been that route yet. Where do I get that mission? Or rather how do I get there? Is it through frost gate somehow? Right now I have Snakes, Rancors, Droknars and the Warcamp all unlocked. Do I need to do something special in Frost gate or Beacons? Im not exactly sure how to get there... my mission sequence is in the Wild/Jungle, according to what I've been doing. Perhaps I went some wrong direction?!?

Look at my link, he spawns there however its quite infrequent, just keep rezoning until you find him.

Can you access "Camp Rankor" ?
If your answer is yes (and it should be if you used a Runner from Beacon's Perch to Droknar), then is is easy.
Just take all the merco with you, and leave town by the South gate ...
The boss should be in the first group of monster you meet. It's a easy fight !
The boss is not always there, sometime it's a Mesmer boss with the 'Illusionary Weapon' elite skill. Nice capture too ! If your boss is no there, juste re-enter / leave Camp Rankor.

Get to camp rankor, walk outside in Talus Chute with henchies and look for Nighh Spinechill. If he's not there, rezone and repeat until he spawns. Once he spawns you can basically call him as your target once so the henchies will attack him, then you can just sit there while they kill him. Or fight, whatever you like. It's really that easy.

Got SS near Camp Rankor.
Pretty easy to reach from there , it only takes a little attention but really not hard.

This is one of the easiest elites to get. Go to Camp Rankor, load up on henchmen so they kill the boss for you. Zone to Talus Chute and start walking. The VERY first group of enemies you encounter will contain a Boss. He drops SS. His name is Nighh SpineChill. The henchmen will kill him and the few surrounding enemies easily, just help them kill them. Note: if the correct Boss is not spawned in this location, all you do is zone back to camp rankor and zone back into Talus Chute until Nighh SpineChill spawns. You can cap very nice elites in this location by just getting the right Boss to spawn.

Yes indeed I do have Camp Rankor!! Which is great because I looked on the map from Guild Wiki and it looked incredibly hard... well, maybe thats not a fair statement but I watched the runner get to Droks and that was no easy task. I know I'd get smashed in seconds...
So what lvl do I need to be to attempt this? Do you think I can pull it off as lvl 14?? If so Ill give that a try tonight.

Thanks for the help, this was just what I needed.
Fenixxor, that link doesn't work from my office.. Ill have to wait till I get home. I will check it out though, 100%!!!
Thanks again for all who posted!

I capped SS at level 13 or 14 with my first necro, and I've helped friends cap it as low as level 8 and 9. It's not very hard at all.
Like I said, you don't even really have to fight, and you can use henchies as aggro shields. And no worries if you die, you'll probably get rezzed anyway as long as the monk henchies survive... which I'd be surprised if they didn't.

level 14 + 7 henchmen level 20 = easy to do !
Even if you die, the monk will raise you, and you will capture the skill after the fight.

Awesome guys! This was exactly what I needed.
Camp Rankor, South Gate... I got it!!!
One more thing since you guys are so great with the replies (how come I can't meet ppl like this IN GAME and I find noobs leaving missions in the first 30 seconds?) Im going to pick out some Armor for my SS 55 Necro, and Ive heard Scars is the best. Where do you get the 15k armor set?? I always thought it was at Droks but from what I can tell they have GOOD armor but not the 15k. I was just curious since you guys all know Necro so well and well.. Im pretty noob to it (my first char was Mesmer)

Is it worthwhile to buy, or should I just invest in armor at Droks?? I was thinking about going to a collector to buy my stuff too.... any thoughts on what to do?

Man, lets hope the necros don't become the next preconcepted "noob" class.
*sigh
Anyway, 15k armor set for ur 55 isn't really cost effective ;D use the normal ascalon set, its cheaper.

You buy 15k armour for Granite citadel and marhans Grotto.
11 Apr 2006 at 13:14 - 16
For armor, go for LA scars for energy and price; no point in buying droks scars when the AL doesn't matter. 15k armor for a solo farmer is kind of pointless since people will rarely see you in it. Go for 15k for your regular armor if you must.
But since you asked... I know for sure that 15k scars can be found at Grotto. I'm not so sure about Citadel though.

Best? Droks is just as good, the difference is in aesthetics. In other words, you are paying 10 fold for the look of the armor not the stats.

Ahh, I pretty much stated at the beginning that I was a noob with Necros and that doesn't mean that I am a "noob" with the entire game. I play PVP and if you actually read anything I had to say you would actually know that. I wanted to play a necro because I wanted to be able to do some Solo work and this way I have that options. In PVP there isn't no set armor classes to buy, you chose one at the start and thats it. In PVE there are so many choices which is why I was asking the question, which ones are better. So maybe next time, think a bit and read before you post.
Anyways to the actual useful, great people who respond to me without... "OMFG FFS n00bsor learn2play".
From what I gather, the 15k armor does nothing besides give you a different look?

Wow... thats a lot of cash to look a bit of originality. I am going to assume that the scars from Ascalon and Drok's look identical except for the armor class?? I understand that since Im using Protective Spirit Ill take 5 damage regardless, so thats why its best to go with Ascalon...
Thats really too bad... I really like the look of the 15k Scars, much more compared to the regular scars. Perhaps Ill buy them sometime, just not right now. So much money to invest just for looks. All the same, I take a lot of pride in the way my necro looks
Thanks very much guys for the help with this. I appreciate all the great responses and feedback. Tonight Ill be able to get my armor set, Spiteful Spirit and the rest of the skills I need to complete my 55 Necro. Might have a problem getting the -50 focus item but Im sure it's floating around.
Now time to search the forum for some good farming places!
