Fatal Error...can't log in

Did a search ...not working as usual. Scanned the topics didn't see it.

So here it is.

I haven't played in amonth or so. Saw there was an updtae, and I downloaded it. Got the new sign in screen, etered my password, and I get a pop up that says a fatal error has occured. So I try agaion...same message. So I figure I have to change my password. I get a new one emailed to me, and still the same thing.

Anyone have this problem, or a solution for it?

Delete gw.dat and reconnect, or reinstall in the case of a slow connection. you might also try starting guild wars with the repair switch

C:\someplace\gw.exe --repair

Wow I am glad I am on cable, I deleted the Dat file, something like 4000 files had to be downloaded, about 55MB. But it didn't work.

Not sure how to do the second suggestion you mentioned.

Ok I got it...used install disc and got it fixed.

Now I just have to decmpress 5000 files to get into the game
