Eggnog/Spiked Eggnog lost its effect
lyra_song
I felt like emptying these items finally today. So i took a few and nothing happened T_T
It seems they dont make the screen all crazy anymore....but the self-emoting and drunken "i love you"s are still fine. or is just me?

Where you drunk at the time. Maybe they cancelled each other out.
Sagaris
That's because you've drunk too many. You get used to the effects. :P
R A C
I drank some a bit ago too and didn't see any of the awesome color and distortion effects. I was really bummed.

Lady Erighan
I've had the same thing happen to me; the regular Eggnogs didn't create drunkeness effects, but when combined with the "Spiked" version...well, it knocked me on my arse.
dr1zz one
I tried a few eggnog + spiked eggnog recently as well, and the effect isn't the same.
The effects also ran out rather quickly.
This character never tried it and i was dissapointed with the results.

Witch Brew + Absinthe still works, I, er, "accidently" discovered during a FOW trip....
TheGuildWarsPenguin
Yep, the nlurry effects ran out but the, "everyone stop shouting" and "I think Im going to be Sick" still work.
MSecorsky
I took a few... but don't remember what happened.

Balance
Diablo, mind sparing a few to me?
Fate
I did a Dwarven Ale last night, nothing happened. I've used them in the past and know what they're supposed to do. Mabye the effect is broken?
Mtank325
I just checked a spiked eggnog and it still works for my ele.
boxterduke
It all part of the new engine update.
Some video cards do not display the effects while running under dx9
Go to your guidlwars shortcut and then right click on it and add -dx8 to the end of the line and see if that makes a difference.
for example:
"c:\program files\guild wars\gw.exe" -dx8

I had the same thing so I turned post processing effects on and it worked. Kinda stupid to have to play with bloom to get the drunken effects
Count to Potato
Spike Egnof + Abstinthe + More Spiked eggnog gets you green swirly, almost made me dizzy watching it
Fred Kiwi

ANyway, to everyone who is not seeing the effects: check in the advanced settings to see if you have Post Process Effects turned on or off.
Energizer Deth Buni
Most substances will generally loose their effect over time. Spiked Egg Nog and Wtiches Brew work by forcing neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine to be released into the synaptic junctions between brain cell. The result may be great feelings of eurphoria and visual hallucinations. Overtime the brain cells reputake system may be damaged from the overload and the reputake of neurotransmitters into the wrong specific reputake site. This can lead holes in the brain and Parkisons - and other things that big brother pays government researchers to say in an effort to curb the use of Spiked Egg Nog and Witches Brew. So remember to drink plenty of water and not party in the hot desert due to overheating. Parties in the Shiverpeaks maybe enviromentally safer due to the cold weather. But the sudden feelings of empathy and attraction to dwarves have caused many longterm psychological problems to those waking up in the morning beside a dwarf or two. Thats all I have time to say about that. Thanks.

Not many know now that eggnog and spiked work as CC's now in PVE, so keep it a hush hush.

Silent Coyote
Post-processing as the name suggest are effects applied to the scene after its been rendered (the scene is rendered to the back buffer before its displayed), soon as the drunken effect simply warps the rendered image, seemed kinda obvious you would need post-processing turned on to see it. Post-processing doesn't only mean bloom.
