R/N and Death Nova

I'm a level 18 R/N and I got the idea of using my taking my pet along in hopes that he gets whacked so I can use Death Nova. I haven't tried this yet, but I was wondering since warriors can use pets for IWAY then shouldn't a R/N be able to use Death Nova for a pet death??? I'm sure this isn't anything new and I'm sure there have been plenty of people out there that has already thought of this, but I was wondering if anyone here has done it and if it works well or not. Thanks.

Such spotty and unwieldy damage, it's better to keep the pet alive and use it to attack or drop Charm Animal from your bar. Death Nova won't do enough damage to be worth losing your pet, having your bar disabled for 8 seconds, rezzing your pet (another 8 seconds) just to lose it again.

I guess my thinking was that if the pet died (and got a high DP) then blasted and poisoned enemy I could the rez pet with low health so he die quickly again at which I would then keep spamming Death Nova. I forgot about the skill bar being disabled for 8 seconds though. Guess it wasn't a very clever idea after all. Thanks.
