Will there be any PvE overlap at all if...

People only have Chapter 1, or only Chapter 2? i.e. any common ground where people who have either chapter (but not both) can maybe meet up and trade? Or will only those who have both chapters be allowed to travel back and forth?

I presume this means future events such as Wintersday etc. will also be spread out over some more cities in both chapters/contintents? What will happen to any future event quests e.g. "Greatest Snowman" will those be cross-chapter? specific to each one?

Prophecies and Factions chars will have access to Battle Isles, whether they have one game or both. I also assume that future chapters will have the same access, so the Great temple of Balthazaar could become a trading hub. So only really a trading overlap, not PvE.

Whether things like the Luxon/Kurzick quests in Kryta will continue after Factions release, for Prophecies only players, only time will tell.

The only overlapping I've found is all PvP area's, but thats all I think.

I really hope there will be some overlapping area, I would love to see everyone have acces to lions arch - the market place (don't know name) but they just can't use the portals there.

I vaguely remember something about Canthan chars to be able to get to Lions Arch, but that could just be me or something I saw in the Lore.

I believe the answer is only in the Battle Isles. So the Great Temple could end up being a big trade area for people that dont have all the chapters.

By Campaign 3, we can expect a central trading island.
Imagine the Pvp Isles getting spammed from General channel and trade channel for almost all districts since it will be a major hub.

Secondary hubs will be Lion's Arch and Marketplace. But sooner or later it'll be the battle isles. Easier for both single-game players. The merge-players will follow suit of course.

Merge-players can go anywhere tho, ain't that cool, sell stuff in Ascalon, /dance there with your ass and rits then they'll buy Factions as well

I think that would annoy PvP'ers if the only place people could meet to trade was the Battle Isles... and yes my main question was if it would be possible for chapter 1 owners to trade stuff with chapter 2 owners and vice versa (assuming people only buy one chapter) - somewhere like LA perhaps?

yah LA as well as Marketplace (Cantha side), but they will need fedex'ers or middle-man, and those will be the merged-players.

That will bring the price up if the majority will use a middle-man.
Prophecies sells to Merged-Player sells to Factions and vice versa. The middle-man will of course add profit to the item.

But with Battle Isles, there's no need for one. Thus keeping the prices low, and making the merged-player middle-men go find another market - example sell in Ascalon and Droknar's Forge for the Tyrian side. Sell in House of Heltzer and Luxon capital for the Canthan side.

My trade channel is already always turned off coz of the too much messages scrolling.
People are already selling stuff in the General Channel, problem is, ANet isn't strict about the use of the channels (there should be a guild recruitment channel to begin with). Basically, the unwritten rule is District 1 and 2 are trade districts, sometimes 3 as well depending on the time of the day.
